I really enjoyed this movie, but we all know how it is nowadays. There's no such thing as freedom of religion anymore, at least not for Christians. I was surprised the Bible burning ACLU atheist Commies didn't come into the school and start looking for Christians to burn at the stake. These jokers don't have any problem with wiccans, muslims, etc. pushing their religion, but mention God within a mile of a public school and they start screaming about separation of religion and state. Like I said earlier, I enjoyed this movie, but boy I'll bet the Hollywood atheists all hated it. Nothing gets them madder than somebody mentioning God.

Oh, shut up. Christians have all the religious freedoms they're entitled to. Just because you can't dictate all government policies, all public education policies and all the content of the entertainment industies according to your rligious beliefs doesn't mean your rights have been abridged.
For that I refer you to Pat Robertson's Christian Coalition extending its slimy tentacles into the GOP, as well as the First Amendment and why that is unconstitutional. I will also refer you to the instances of bigotry and discrimination other religions, as well as atheism, face in the USA, perpetrated by none other than you righteous, holier-than-thou Christians.

Same here. You see that happening all the time. But maybe someday, Christians will have an equal place in society. They might even be elected to office. I can dream, can't I?
If there is no such thing as freedom of religion for Christians, why does my small town of 2200 people have four churches? Why does the town next to us have nine churches for 18000 people? Why are there Christian television stations? Christian stores? Why do they come to my door to try to make me believe what they believe? Why do I find flyers and tracts just about everywhere I go?
Christians push their religion more than any other. Just because the world doesn't accept your belief does not mean you are being persecuted.
When you die for your beliefs, when you have to go underground and hide for your beliefs, when you lose everything you have for your beliefs, when you're kicked out of your country for your beliefs...then talk to me about persecution.
Until then, get over yourself. You're really not that important. Persecuting you and those like you would mean you mattered or were a threat; since you're not, and there is no persecution, you have to convince yourself otherwise in order to be comfortable with your choices and beliefs.

No, because they don't push their religions.
You know, I saw that movie. It was Christian, sure, but it didn't try to force its Christianity on you. I actually rather enjoyed it- I like football. Thanks for ruining it for me.
Never heard of this movie, did it actually make the theaters? Or was it one of those strait to video things?
By the way, atheists aren't the ones who are experts at burning people at the stake.
@tmr
You ain't seen nothing, 21 churches, pop. 4200, Some of the churches are seasonal but many are Independant Fundie Baptists/ Church of God/ Holyness (that's how they spell it.) Little cult like groups of three or four families, mabye 20-35 people. We got Snake handlers, Rapture Cultists, Wannabe Exorcists, the whole works not too much in the way of mainstream religion here just little independant groups the broje off from each other.

Actually, you've got it backward: Historically, it is the Christians who have burned others at the stake -- such as "witches" (i.e., people whom they feared or just didn't like because they were different) and "heretics" (i.e., people who had the unspeakable gall to think for themselves).

"Perhaps one day there can be an openly Christian president. Or 43 of them. Consecutively."
Seriously unless religious freedom means crucifying people, they've got all the freedom the will ever need.

Sorry, don't you mean: "I was surprised the witch burning Christian Crusaders didn't come into the school and start looking for people to burn at the stake."
It's not the mention of God, it's your stupid fanaticism and insistence that you have the One True Faith(TM), and your irritating tendency to force it on others.
We really need to bring back the lions.
Confused?
