I dont think the killing was intentional. I think it was a savage beating gone wrong. But you better believe that If I was in a bar and i was being hit on by gay chicks they'd be beat up too. I wouldnt kill em, hell no cuz thats wrong. I dont think he deserved to die, but i think its a strong warning that gays shouldnt start shit. ... Start shit? Savage beating GONE wrong? It was fucking wrong in the first place. And what the hell do you mean 'start shit'? Unless you're wearing a "Hey, I'm not gay, I'm straight." armband or something I don't think there's anyway in hell he can tell. Hate to break it to you, but gay people don't have overt signs of it usually.
So, the beatings of Xians in, say, Muslim or Hindu majority societies is just a "strong warning" that Xians shouldn't "start shit?" I mean, they shouldn't intentionally kill Xians, that would be wrong.
Yeah, that's right kids. The revised 6th commandment said don't kill, but grevious bodily harm is a perfectly acceptable solution in modern society apparently.

Sadly I've lived in a redneck stronghold for the majority of my life and I have heard many similar statements during the 70's and 80's. People that spout off things of a terrible nature in front of a group of people as if it was common knowledge, and then most of the group chiming in with similar stunted thoughts. All the while I'm looking around at classmates, cousins and neighbors wondering how angry and hateful talk could flow so freely out of church-goin' folk who many times wouldn't tolerate people saying the word, 'crap' but liked to talk about 'fags' and racial epithets that would make my blood run cold. Believe me, they ARE out there. Today, most of these guys are quiet until they get angry or drunk and then the old ways come back pretty naturally.
So I guess according to this logic, it's OK for my wife, when some drunk guy makes a pass at her, to beat him senseless and leave him for dead somewhere? Cool. I'll remember to tell her.

California Rest in Peace I've thought about what would be the most appropriate thing to happen to you, and I think what you really need is for someone to beat the absolute, ever-living crap out of you, tie you to a fence in subfreezing weather, and let you just hang there for nine, ten, maybe fifteen hours. That should be enough time to teach you a bit of empathy for what others have had to go through.
