You know in Genesis when God created the world, and after that He created Adam in His image. And God let Adam to rest for a while to make Eve with 1 of Adams ribs.

I am guessing that God allowed Adam to sleep for 8 hours and God probably used 2-4 hours to create Eve, probably another 2-4 hours for Adam to heal. And if there was time left probably God let Adam to rest just for the heck of it.

Actually, there were complications during the rib operation that required much more extensive repairs to the Human 1.0 (i.e., Adam), and the genetic manipulation to clone a female version of Adam was more involved than God first anticipated, so Adam was left in a state of suspended animation for approximately 500 million years, during which time the dinosaurs came along.
To restore Eden to its proper state, God had to use a huge meteorite to wipe out the dinosaurs and other unauthorized creatures that had arisen, but he overlooked a few of the survivors because he was in a rush, finishing up the creation of Eve 1.0. By the time Adam and Eve were (re)awakened in the recreated Eden, God was just so relieved to be avoiding a malpractice lawsuit (since Adam had no idea that millions of years had elapsed) that he took no notice of the apelike beings in the background that had evolved in the meantime and that soon, while he went off and took a day of rest, would completely replace his creations -- the Neanderthals. Hey, this religious fiction gig is pretty cool, once you get the hang of it! ~David D.G.
