Homosexuality is a misleading Western concept. It equates man's sexual desire for men with a desire for passive sex and thus with femininity (third gender) and combines all three into a singular concept "Homosexuality".
Viewed as the above, Homosexuality is indeed a minority, but not unnatural.
However, a sexual desire amongst men for other men is very, very common under natural circumstances -- and its also found in every mammalian species with as much universality.
You do remember the ancient Greeks, don't you... where it was extremely common for straight men to be involved sexually/ romantically with another guy. In fact, till the modern West politicised manhood to keep out the entire range of man's sexual need for men, there was wide spread sexuality between men in men's spaces (though not acknowledged in formal spaces, as it was not considered fit for men of character). In the non-Western world, which are not heterosexualized like the West yet, men still have sex with other men in large numbers... depending upon how strong the men's spaces are, even though the formal society may be hostile. In fact, Christians have always held that if we start talking about man to man sexuality as 'normal' and 'acceptable' then everyone will start having sex with men, and then no one would want to go to women. There is a lot of truth in this statement. In fact, all the social/ religious/ scientific mechanisms (like the system of sexual orientatoin) have been developed in order to crush man's sexual need for men, so that their sexual and social energies can only be harnessed towards reproduction and more reproduction for a society obsessed with numbers.
In fact, the only reason we don't see enough instances of man-to-man desire in the straight world is because there is no social space for it there... and men are conditioned to hate, fight, suppress, hide, ignore and disacknowledge their sexual need for men.
And indeed, there are innumerable social mechanisms, that have in the past one thousand years, seeped deep into every social institution -- into the air that we breathe -- that not only force, reward, entice, goad, punish men in order fight and hate the very concept of romantic intimacy between men, it also is designed to supress all evidences of it that do come up in the society, either directly or indirectly. In the western world, they are just thrown into the 'gay' ghetto, so that the mainstream doesn't have to deal with that. This widespread heterosexuality is indeed an illusion and so is an absence of romantic intimacy between men. Otherwise, there would not have been the need for such extreme pressures to make men heterosexual (including persecution by religions obsessed with increasing their numbers).
