Many Christians get shaken up by the latest big words and fancy ideas coming from dead souls called atheists and scoffers. This ought not to be. Romans chapter 1 tells us that they KNOW God is. Yes, yes, some of them have lied to themselves so many times that they begin to believe there is no God--BUT--things like guilt, hurt, hatred, despondency, need, and emptiness still plague these people. Their emotions, desires and actions cannot be adequately explained through their evolutionary world view. It's hard on 'em to figure it all out. Psychiatrists are making a killing.

And if you would take a serious look at the world without those bible colored glasses you have, you'd see who it is that is lying to themselves. Outside of the holy books of whichever religious variety you look at, there is not one shred of evidence for a god if any flavor.

I have not been hurt in being an atheist, cause unlike the Christians participating in the Holy Crusade to Jerusalem, we don't fight for our beliefs to that extent. And don't put me in the same category as Mao! Despondency? Of course, realising the truth that nothing happens after our deaths frightened me a little, but I resigned myself to it. It is the truth after all, there is no other explanation. Without religion, I can devote myself to making myself needed for others. I believe the previous statement shows how to solve the emptiness.

I'm thinking that the guilt, hurt, hatred, etc. are the things one leaves behind, in the liberation of the soul from fundyism.
I'm a Catholic, I go to church every Sunday, and I know that science does not have all the answers. Who's to say what the hand of God, such as it is, would look like to us. Science does not presume to have all the answers, we don't know for sure how the universe was formed for example. However, there are reasonable Christians out there who do not spout this fundy garbage, and even outright hate it, they make the honest religious folk look bad. I believe that religion and science can coexist well, and thank-you good sir, but atheists happen to be fairly nice and agreeable folk. I almost forgot, the guys railing against religion, you are no better than the fundies, in fact, you technically would be considered a fundy too, just not a Christian one.
