Believing in creationism or intelligent design does not hamper scientific progress unless you think progress are things like cloning, designer children, mixing of embryos, grafting human parts on animals, attempting to inseminate animals with human sperm, abortion, etc.

He also suggests that people move to the USA because we teach evolution. This is ludicrous.

["I keep on seeing that those that are on ssi will not get their check next month."]

That's one of Obama's scare tactics. He wants to scare everyone on SSI, SS, and Medicare into thinking they won't get their checks so they will back his plans for raising taxes and pushing his agenda.

In the end, the important checks will go out regardless of the agreement they come up with or even if they come up with no agreement. They already have back-up plans to make sure that all the SS, SSI, Medicare, military pay and other key checks go out.

Don't let the political drama for an election year audience scare you.

Also, considering you are a Christian you shouldn't worry about this anyway. Jesus promised that He will provide for His own. We are to look to Him for our provision, not the government. One way or another, God will make sure your needs are met.

[re: Pastor arrested for preaching the Bible to people standing in a DMV line.]

The whole thing is wrong. First of all, the man wasn't preaching, he was reading. Second, there was no "captive audience"; as none of the people standing in line had to keep standing there. They were free to leave or ignore the man reading.

Also, notice how the police officer, upon initial arrival, goes directly to the man reading and tells him he's under arrest. The policeman didn't observe to see if the man was preaching or not. The policeman didn't ask him if he had been preaching and asked to leave.

["Won't the common grace from God, the morality of people, prevent pedophilia from becoming legal?"]

No. Most people secretly want pedophilia to become legal so they can either egnage in it or profit from it. Nine of every ten people you meet, both within the church and without, are sexual perverts just waiting for their wicked lifestyle to become accepted as normal activity. I'd be willing to bet there are even people on these boards who are just chopping at the bits for this to be legal, though they would never admit it.

[Re: Why is the KJV Bible better than modern translations?]

The "proof is in the pudding." The KJV has produced more fruit than all the other versions combined. All your great revivals have ended in America since the new version came out. Except for Sunday and Graham who both used KJVs. (We'll, Graham was quoted once as saying, "When I want results I use the KJV").

The men behind the translation. Though the may have not all been straight doctrinally they were some of the holiest and God-fearing men. And they were very, very intelligent. Many of your new versions were had unsaved reprobates and perverts TRANSLATING the bible. (Whatever may be said about King James, whether true or false, he DID NOT TRANSLATE the KJV).

The KJV is the only version that claims preservation and has supporters who claim it is pure and without error. You will not find this with any other English version that I know off.

Finally, though lazy Christians claim it is hard to READ it has been scientifically proven to be the easiest version to UNDERSTAND. There is something about the King's English that is very clear and to the point. The English launguage was at its best at this time in history.

More and more it's becoming open warfare against Christianity.

AFA reported that themselves and many other Christian groups have been added to the SPLC's list of "hate groups" simply because they declare the biblical fact that homosexuality is a sin.

John81 #fundie onlinebaptist.com

Indeed, God established kings to rule. We don't read that God wanted any kings wife to be declared a leader.

[...]

In any event, the Bible is clear that men are to lead in the political realm, military realm and church realm, in the home and elsewhere. The Bible is equally clear as to the duty of women, and it's different from that of men.

The Founders understood this which is partly why women were barred from holding political office and not allowed to vote.

When rebellious women began demanding to be allowed to vote, the fundamentalist pastors and churches stood firm against this because it was seen as a violation of biblical principle.

Of course, as with most things, what the church once stood firmly against, once it became acceptable in society at large, the church gradually dropped their standards and embraced the new way. We have seen this not only within the realm of women in politics and voting, but also in the realm of dress, divorce, "birth control", women pastors, homosexual pastors, viewing of movies, obeying the the law, etc.

Harry Potter is wicked and shouldn't be supported by any Christian. Teens are trying witchcraft and experimenting with Satanism thanks to the Harry Potter series. I know someone who is probably demon possessed as an end result of this stuff. I don't care how enjoyable the stories are, they're wicked and from the pit of Hell and they're leading kids there.

["how you can equate what Scripture is talking about (Satan worship, paganism, child sacrifice, ordering one's life around superstition, etc.) with fictional/fantastic literature that has no basis in true reality, and uses fanciful magic merely as a plot device."]

Witchcraft is "true reality" and not something to be toyed with. In high school a friend was toying with various aspects of witchcraft, things went wrong and his house burned down.

There have been those who practice witchcraft (by a variety of names) in this area who are known to have accomplished "magical" things.

If one proclaims fictional witchcraft to be acceptable, then that would logically extend to fictional works depicting "good" homosexuality or "good" adultery.

When my ancestors arrived there was no nation here...

["Thousands of Native Americans beg to differ."]

Again you show your PC liberal beliefs. First off, there is no such thing as "native Americans" unless you are referring to those born in USA. Those who were here when this land was settled, American Indians, were not "native" to the land. In fact current archeological discoveries indicate there were already people here when they arrived and at least some of those people were of a caucasian lineage and the American Indians exterminated them. Well such is life among those without God regardless their heritage.

The point being, there was no established nation where America is today. Those who were in the land were a heathen people and God saw fit to remove them by the influx of those from Europe. So now there is a nation here with laws against illegal immigration and those who break the law should be deported not rewarded.

Now, if one looks to Scripture it could very well be considered that this influx of ungodly illegals is a part of Gods punishment upon America. America has turned from God so God is allowing America to be overrun by the ungodly.

There is only one true answer to this and we find it in Scripture as well.

HappyChristian #fundie onlinebaptist.com

There's been killing since the beginning of sin, but it has risen and risen. We can trace it to the legalization of abortion (human life is no longer precious once it's acceptable to destroy a babe in the womb) and the teaching that discipline hurts a child's psyche. Both of these a result of turning our corporate backs on God.

[RE: Religion Responsible for Abuse of Women?]

I don't believe anyone said that God could not use women. We all have our place in which we can serve God. We are all saved to do good works. But to serve Him we have to 1st be obedient.

For example, when a woman starts claiming to be a pastor she has stopped being obedient and is no longer following God.

[RE: Religion Responsible for Abuse of Women?]

I agree, Religion has been responsible for the abuse of women. Christianity however, has never been responsible for the abuse of women and it always cherishes, loves and protects women!

Online Baptist #homophobia onlinebaptist.com

Studies have shown that most pedophiles are also homosexuals.

Several shrinks over the past few years have put forth the idea that adult/child sex can be good for children! There have been attempts to make adult/child sex legal so long as the child is willing. Thankfully, such attempts have so far failed.

Pedophiles, along with polygamists and others, have been major backers of homosexual "rights", especially with regards to homosexual "marriage", because virtually all legal experts agree that if homosexuals are granted legal marriage rights then it's only a matter of time before the courts will have to grant the same "rights" to all other "preferences".

Expect a barrage of lawsuits filed by pedophiles, polygamists and others demanding their "rights" when the day arrives that homosexuals are granted marriage "rights".

Kay, it is never right to murder. Your scenario is situational ethics. Women have more options these days: places to go and people who will adopt that baby.

Most "scenarios" presented are tear-jerking sob stories that represent the minority of abortion cases. The majority of women who abort do so for convenience's sake.

I flew one time, maybe a year after 9/11...there was a muslim right behind me. (Actually an Indian friend of mine told me he probably was Indian, and not Muslim, as Indians wear the bigger head thingys). Anyway as soon as we took off, the guy, who was in the middle seat, wanted to use the bathroom. Because of all the fear we all had, the guy next to him wouldn't let him go! He came up with excuses not to let the poor guy use the bathroom until the very end of the flight. haha. It would have been really funny if it hadn't been slightly nervewracking!

Patterns on the skins of dinos would show evidence that man lived with dinosaurs. Pictures in native american caves showed dinos, with spirals and such on the skin. This has been used to prove it was made up, but if we "discover" that yes, dinos had patterns on their skin, it becomes a much more solid question as to how people a couple thousand years ago knew this.

Art of dragons in europe and asia are the same. Dino looking, but with patterned skin. It's only modern scientists who draw em simply green with maybe a lighter belly.

That's how it ties into creation/evolution, and only one way of a couple.

The Social Worker At Your Door: 10 Helpful Hints

More and more frequently, homeschoolers are turned in on child abuse hotlines to social service agencies. Families who do not like homeschoolers can make an anonymous phone call to the child abuse hotline and fabricate abuse stories about homeschoolers. The social worker then has an obligation to investigate. Each state has a different policy for social workers, but generally they want to come into the family's home and speak with the children separately. To allow either of these to occur involves great risk to the family.

The homeschool parent, however, should be very cautious when an individual identifies himself as a social worker. In fact, there are several tips that a family should follow:

[The bulk of the article has been snipped, but here are some highlights.]

You do not have to let the social worker in your house without a warrant or court order, unless there is a true emergency in your home...

Inform your church, and put the investigation on your prayer chain. Over and over again, HSLDA has seen God deliver homeschoolers from this scary scenario.

Avoid potential situations which could lead to a child welfare investigation.

Do public relations with your immediate neighbors and acquaintances regarding the legality and success of homeschooling.

Do not spank children in public.

Do not spank someone else's child unless they are close Christian friends.

Avoid leaving young children at home alone, or in an automobile.

I was at a picnic today and some of my church friends invited their friends who weren't Christians, and I had noticed a young boy (couldn't have been more than 9 or 10) who was cussing like those were the only words in his vocabulary and spitting on his sister whilst laughing. I tried to witness to him, but as I began to describe "hell" as a place where the wicked are punished, he got upset and scared and went his way. Don't get me wrong...I first told Him about how God loves him and sent His Son into this world to die for us, but as I began to describe the consequences of sin - he hated it. What did I do wrong?

As Christians we would always have love for our children but you cannot compare Christians to the lost.

Lost people kill their kids and abuse them daily, to speak nothing of disowning them.

As Christians though, no we would love our children although loving them wouldn't always mean allowing them to continue coming home if they were adults and in sin.

One thing that I really love and enjoy about our good old KJV Bible is the fact that it has all of the answers for any and every situation. So, on the authority of the word of God (we don't have to worry if it's politically correct or not), we can say (as Preachit said) give him the gospel, and a good and permanent dose of execution (pick your favorite, it mattereth not). Personally, I like the electric chair. Beef it up to 100,000 volts at 5,000 ampere capability. That comes out to 500 million watts of raw, brute power. 'Why so much?', you ask. Because everything that I design and build is loaded with 'overbuild'.
