When I came to Christ, (while getting rid of my large beloved movie collection) the hardest thing for me to do was to give up my Star Trek. Why did I let it go? Something dawned on me... the peaceful, no disease, no war, no money bliss of the Federation was ultimately an illusion even to the characters on the show. If you're as big a fan as I was, you'll remember the large quantities of profanity used by nearly every one of the cast in every installment. Kirk and Picard loved to take the Lord's name in vain and when Data or Spock used profanity, it was all a big laugh... just as it was to the world watching. This wasn't civilized mature behavior.
