[The "best answer" in response to "Christianity makes me depressed"]
If you have to choose between being depressed here on earth or be burned hereafter, I choose for you the temporal suffering on earth, rather than eternal suffering in hell.
After all you should be happy that you have a Savior who is willing to forgive you every time you come to him.

Or you could, y'know, deal with the depression so that your life isn't a drawn out wait for the sweet embrace of the grave because everyone around you is a goddamned heartless lunatic that considers your suffering justified by default.
This is why religion is useless*. Instead of being a comfort to people, it's being used to make them feel even worse. "Either be happy being depressed or burn in hell forever."
*I happen to know a Catholic priest who was a chaplain in the Army in Iraq who now suffers from bad PTSD. While I don't fault him for having PTSD and can't possibly know what he went through over there, apparently knowing the "good news" of a savior and the idea of an eternal paradise isn't enough of a comfort to deal with depression or PTSD.
If Christianity is so great and allows you to have that super hot and steamy relationship with Jesus, why on earth would it cause someone to be depressed, ever? Hopefully whoever asked the question about being depressed dumps the religion and moves on to live a better life. Things like this honestly make me feel sick. No one should sacrifice their life for religious claptrap.
Well not Christianity per se... There's a lot of good but there's also some bull propagated by the more extremist, reactionary side.
For example, Church hymns or praise and worship lift you up emotionally, but a fire and brimstone sermon can kick you to the ground.
It depends if you spend more time reading the four Gospels (and anything from the New Testament not written by Paul - specially if you are a young depressed single woman) or you spend reading the Old Testament with the massacre of the Midianites.
This "choice" wouldn't stand up in court if someone committed robbery at gunpoint saying, "Put the money in the bag or I'll shoot," and defending that in court by saying the victim was given a "choice" to not be shot.
"Oh, you don't accept our offer of salvation? Well, in that case, we have quite another place in store for you."
It's clear that you have morality confused with mafia protection rackets.
you should be happy that you have a Savior who is willing to forgive you every time you come to him.
If he's going to forgive you every time, why does he bother to make you come to him, as opposed to simply ignoring you and letting you do what you want? He sounds like the parent who tells the kid to put away the video game and then when the kid ignores him, keeps saying "OK, ten more minutes".
Sorry, but I stopped having imaginary friends a long time ago because I outgrew the need for them. You, clearly, have not.
This kind of "advice" gets people killed, you fucking cunt. Depression is hell. It's not just feeling a bit sad, it's the complete inability to feel anything else. Moreover, it's a provable illness that can be treated. That's why I take a plethora of meds and see a therapist every week and even then, I self-harm frequently.
You have no fucking idea what depression is and you should be glad of that but if your god tells you to advise people not to get treatment, your cunt of a god is unworthy of worship.
It's interesting that a person whose name is one of the 99 names of Allah in the Koran, followed by 'Ameen', which I assume is a variant of 'Amen' should allude to the Bible.
It's a shame he should (prima facie) escape from one all-encompassing superstitious memeplex to immediately fall into the grasp of another.
Confused?
