"The lawsuit accuses the school district of violating the pupils' constitutional right to free speech and violating the Constitution's establishment clause, which prohibits excessive government entanglement with religion."
Better to violate a child's right who doesn't like it than to force kids to be violated for loving God in my opinion. Otherwise the only option is to have Christians start really acting like they are in enemy territory, and vote with their feet, etc. Shut it down for all I care. The whole pagan school system, and the country! Better to have some brands (maybe states?) snatched from the fire than to have the whole system/country go to hell in a handbasket.

"in my opinion "
And not a fuck was given about your opinion that day.
Why can't you idiots grasp that it's not about "Christians" versus everyone else? It's about "nutjob fundie potential terrorists" (you) versus "sane people who aren't filled with violent bigotry" (us).
So please, dad, and all your little fundie friends, go for it. Act like you're in "enemy territory". With any luck, people will notice and you'll quickly be removed from society for its safety.
I really don't know what the issue here is, what the lawsuit's over, but clearly dad's a rabid fundie hypochristian bigot.
You, sir, are a Grade-A douchenozzle.
And any time you feel like treating me as an enemy, I eagerly invite you to bring it, you pussy.
I hate to be the bringer of bad news dad, but if you vote with your feet, nothing will shut down. You people will continue to be a bunch of self-obsessed half wits, and the rest will just carry on as normal too.
You don't get to force your beliefs on others, dad. This may come as a shock to you but you fundies don't own the country.
@Lezemotu
I'd love it if someone tried to turn it around on the fundies and say that the worship of Odin should be taught in schools, just for the lols. As usual they would scream persecution and totally miss the point, but it would be fun to watch them have conniptions over it.
I have not heard of Christian children being violated in public school, what I have heard is Chistian children being violated in Churches. Now, that is unless you think teaching somebody science is the same thing as raping a child.
"Better to violate a child's right who doesn't like it than to force kids to be violated for loving God in my opinion."
That's why we should teach islam in public schools and ignore your whining about how your rights are being violated.
OK, have kids vote with their feet. Let all the Christian kids stay home instead of going to school and learning. But don't cry when they're unable to find a job later on.
When you have Christians believing that the earth is only 6000 years old and evolution is impossible, do you really think it's in the best interests of Christian kids to keep them home from school? You're not going to do them any favors.
@Sasha:
Fundies' idea of what America should be (an ultraconservative Christian theocracy 1950's utopia) will totally fall apart if they're not catered to, which is why they whine so much.

Do it. Have all of the TrueTM Christians leave this "enemy" land and start your own country (preferably on an uninhabited island somewhere). Then the country will be left with only non-Christians and Christians who aren't completely off their rocker. And you get to be away from all of us evil nonbelievers and "false" Christians. It's a win-win.
Unless you can persuade most of those in Congress to come up with a replacement to the amendment which repeals Kitzmiller vs. Dover and all other laws like it in perpetuity, I'm afraid your precious 'God' has absolutely no place in public life - certainly socio-politically - whatsoever.
Try all you like to think otherwise, but the Establishment Clause says that as the government can't tell you who/how to worship, equally you don't have the fucking right to tell the government what to do.
Otherwise, fuck off to Saudi Arabia or Iran, if you don't like the way we Atheists do things here in the democratic, Rule of Law-based, secular West.
@ Seeker Lancer: I know, right? I'm a Christian myself. I hate the phrase "man up" in general...because it implies that women can't be strong! Have *you* ever had someone grow inside you for nine months?! That takes strength! Not to mention all the women who work in public services--firefighters, police officers, paramedics, soldiers, etc.
You really have to be a tough cookie to work any of these jobs!
Ok, what should Christians do, in your opinion, in a, say, Muslim country?. You know, you can't selectively violate rights of people because, at the end, you violate everybody's rights.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
