Oklahoma GOPer Defends Stoning Gay People To Death
A Republican candidate for Oklahoma’s state house of representatives advocated stoning gay people to death in a Facebook post last year, writing that such a plan is “totally just” because he has “some very huge moral misgivings about those kinds of sins.”
The candidate, Scott Esk, responded to a Facebook commenter who asked if “we should execute homosexuals (presumably by stoning)” by arguing that gay people are indeed “worthy of death.”

Underneath the progressive, modern, tolerant face of America, there is a new Iran, struggling to rise.
One of the reasons the rest of the world doesn't like America is because morons like this actually wield power there.
Reasonable people of America, get you shit toghether, and vote these people out.
Why are these people, who publicly issue death threats to large segments of the population (not that it would make it any less serious if it were against a single person, mind you), allowed to be out of prison, let alone run for public office? oO
And I note this guy isn't even from Texas (which has, OFFICIALLY, one of the most fucktarded platforms of the modern world) or Mississipi (aka, the "we don't have to serve them filthy gays" state).
Is the madness spreading, americans? Please, say it isn't so. As much as posts like this allow me to ridicule all the stupid, they also make me wish all the fundies were right for once and the LHC would, indeed, turn the world into a black hole.

"Someone doesn't know what the word libertarian means."
Damn right. Using violence to achieve ANY end is a violation of libertarianism's core principle, and last I checked, there was no "Gawd sez so" exception.

ok, preventing gays from living because of their sexuality totally goes against libertarianism, which postulates a property right on oneself. I own myself, it says, and so, as long as it takes places between two consenting adults, gay sex is ok.
You are in favor of Sharia laws, I see, Mr Esk.
I hope you sat on a chair doing nothing whatsoever the day before you posted this drivel, or you're "worthy of death" too.
(July 28th 2013 was a Sunday.)
Some people have extremely short memories.
Late 2012. Todd Akin, Richard Mourdoch's & Mitt Romney's terminal cases of 'Foot-in-Mouthitis'.
And the Democrats thank you, Scotty-boy, for another weapon to add to their 2016 arsenal.
And another loop to add to the Repubicans' perpetual crazy traincrash of FAIL, certainly at least half a generation longer they'll be out of the White House.
If you lot could've learned nothing else out of the 2012 debacle, it's that 'It's all about Demographics '; offend a vital part of your electorate - even via a 'Taken out of Context ' gaffe - give them just one good reason why they should vote for you?!
Your electoral chances are worthy of worse -than Death, Scott.

And when even he gets it, then...!
Listen, I've had my disagreements with libertarians, particularly on welfare and minimum wage. But if you believe anyone has the right to stone anyone else to death over some religious belief then you are no libertarian. You are a theocrat masquerading as a libertarian. Most libertarians I know are even against the death penalty for all but the most heinous of crimes. And however religious they are, they realize that their religion cannot interfere with others' rights.
The classic libertarian favors a minimum of laws, and none that are unnecessary. They usually come across as conservative on fiscal issues and liberal on social issues, since they generally don't believe the government should interfere in either moral matters or the free market. There are no libertarians in the Republican party, regardless of what they want to call themselves. They'd never get elected.
In what fucking world is it considered more moral to murder the fuck out of someone than to bang another consenting adult? Fucking stupid, shortsighted, amoral twatburger.
Fuck. Fuck it all. I mad.
Doesn't he realise that not only would his policy be in direct contravention of federal law regarding capital punishment, but it would also draw widespread condemnation from all over the World? If the Republican party associated with this moron, they would be sunk, their credibility and respect gone, even from their most conservative diehard supporters. Except in Texas maybe.
gay people are indeed “worthy of death.”
I wonder if he'd take part in the stonings. We could put him in a room with Michael Sam, give him a bucket full of pebbles, and tell him to get at it.
I guess he could round up gays, put them in an air-tight room, tell them they're going to have a shower, and turn on the gas. That would be quicker and more efficient. Kind of reminds me of something too.
Oh, and wait until his darling granddaughter whom he loves so much comes out after puberty. Get the stones!
Why do so many politicians think Old Testament theocracy and Randian libertarianism are somehow compatible? (Apart from similar "screw the unfortunate" vibes.)
@Night Jaguar
I thought it was "small enough to fit in your vagina".
You realize that by advocating stoning for homosexuality, then you have no grounds to dismiss any of the rest of the Levitican laws, right?
Actually, pop quiz, what DOES Leviticus say, outside of "STONE TEH QUEERS!" Go on, I'll wait.
Personally, I think bigots, hate-mongers and religious hypocrites should be stoned. Of course, a lot of them already are!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
