“It makes a difference because of cultural cohesion and the definition of nationhood."
Well, if the culture likes being a melting pot, then that’s the culture: Cohesive.
“I think biblically speaking, it's pretty clear that racial segregation (not animosity) was begun and used by God,”
No, to me, it’s clear that the Bible treats ‘Jew’ as a race, a nation, and a religion. All the anti-miscegenation verses that have been offered to me involve religion more than race. If you observe dietary restrictions, you don’t want a wife in the kitchen who does not.
Not an issue for me, all my dietary restrictions are from doctors.
“represents the natural 'order', if you will,”
I won’t.
I can find music enjoyable without knowing if the artist is white. Same with paintings, movies, books.
I can enjoy food without determining if it’s from a ‘white’ culture.
I can find women attractive no matter what their ancestry might be.
This isn’t natural.
“and is a pretty positive thing overall.”
It’s a pretty amusing thing. Eating at a McDonald’s where people at the next tables were whispering but trying to determine which kids were mine from a previous marriage and which ones were ‘ours.’
Also, my son having to carry around a picture of him with his mother because he was constantly asked, ‘WHy did you mark ‘black’ on this form?’
“That said, I'm not condemning anyone who chooses to miscegenate.”
Uh huh. I believe you.
“Again, I'm just concerned about the vilification of those who --for biblically and philosophically sound reasons--oppose it.”
So you’re not against it, but you defend those who are, even though they have superstition to support it?
Um…
I’m gonna go with ‘fuck off, fuckface.’
