All of this may not matter much to you, but I have two earned degrees, one in biology and chemistry, and the other a DDS. I have INTENSELY studied the evolution-creation debate for about 35 years, and have read something like 250 books on both sides of the issue. I have come to the studied conclusion that evolution is junk science, sort of like man-made global warming. We have been told so many thousands of times, for so many years, that evolution is a fact. As a result many people who are basically uninformed have been brainwashed. You might look at some of the articles and archives at the Discovery Institute. You might want to read some of the offerings by Michael Denton. By the way, Dr. Ken Ham of the creation museum is INCREDIBLY well-informed.

Erm.... you can't have a single degree in chemistry and biology, unless there is some sort of highly specialized field that utilizes both at the same time. But I'm sure you would have given us the name of that degree, as it's sure to be impressive sounding? Human genome mapping..... Genetic manipulation....... Bio-genetics, hell I'd even buy pharmecutical designer.
In conclusion, I think you're a fullofshit dentist who is trying to fool everybody into thinking you know what your talking about, simply because you managed to get a c or higher in your general ed courses. Fuck off. And you can take Ken Ham with you.
The worst thing is that I believe him when he says he's managed to read 250 books from both sides and still remains ignorant.
many people who are basically uninformed have been brainwashed.
You mean the fundies. In which case I agree.
Evolution is a theory. It does not pretend to be fact or true. It is simply what works at the current moment in the progression of the human thought-systems. It is not immortal (unlike the Bible, which claims, quite ludicrously, to be none other than the Divine Word of God), and is, like all science, subject to change as our understanding of the Universe and reality itself change.
What would you say if it was pointed out that Denton's second book, "Nature's Destiny" contradicts many of the points in "Evolution - Theory in Crisis"?
The latter is used extensively by the Discovery Institute to push Intelligent Design.
In actuality, real, accredited, scientists haven't been kind to Denton, Behe, Ham, et al. They tend to qualify their collective works with descriptions like: intellectually dishonest, ill researched, fallacious arguments, etc.
I think I'll keep my trust in real scientists, not pseudo-scientists looking to push the Biblical agenda.
I have five degrees in divinity from various institutions of high credibility. I have died and been to heaven and been sent back to teach God's word. God personally gave me a commendation for my good work on Earth and for my studies. I have many angelic friends, and I regularly have dinner with them. I have INTENSELY studied the evolution-creation debate for about 5,000 years, since during my time in heaven time went kinda wonky so I had to be sent back in time by God to get back to where II started, and I have read some hundreds of thousands of books on the issue, as well as had many personal conversations with God about it. I have come to the studied conclusion that creationism is a fictitious concoction, much like the post to which this one replies.
Something tells me I don't want you cleaning my teeth, Designed. And it is entirely possible that Ken Ham (he doesn't deserve the doctorate, nor really does anyone who uses the title as a cudgel to pull rank on dissenters) is in fact well-informed, but he's also a first-degree liar.
Dear Designed,
Your final three sentences prove that you do not have two degrees, you have not seriously studied human evolution for 35 years, and that the 250 books you claim to have read on the subject were all Chick tracks. I'd doubt your DDS claim as well but I am going to be somewhat charitable with you.
BTW: Could you explain to me why your god created our jaws too small to accommodate the number of teeth we have?
Designed, you are aware that people who hold valid degrees rarely feel the need to precise that said degrees are "earned", aren't you? And by the way, your pants appear to be undergoing combustion...
Sorry, that was three degrees. Chemistry and Biology are seperate, Biochemistry although, is a singular one, but it has nothing to do with evolution.
Now as you can't even count, I'm going to state that your lying. On top of that, I'll directly contradict you:
-Based on multiple cases of observed mutation within single celled animals, as well as the knowledge gleaned from fossil records, we can say, for a fact, that evolution is real.
-Of the nine hundred sixty five studies published on Global Warming in 2006, not one stated that humans weren't the key force behind it. We also have temperature graphs straight from 1902 to now that show it clearly along with satellite scans. All those new weather patterns occuring also help us conclude that humans are the driving force behind global warming.
Stop lying, get your head out of your bible, and get a life.
Cheers!
Oh yeah! Well, I have FIVE degrees and I'M NOT EVEN OUT OF COLLEGE YET!
AND I READ A THOUSAND BOOKS ABOUT CREATIONISM AND EVOLUTION!
AND I THINK KEN HAM IS SUPER_DUPER_NOT_WELL_INFORMED!!!
You can read a million books on the subject...so long as you don't give it an unbiased look, it doesn't really matter. As for the degrees, I have a black belt in karate, and membership to MENSA. prove me wrong.
Confused?
