freedom of what? our rights? YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO POT. true freedom is letting the people decide what your rights are. collective relativism= they negate each other nicely:)
[A productive culture would be one that is maximally expressive, rather than maximally constrictive. Pot being illegal is but one manner in which modern culture is constrictive.]
okay, let's do away with society and rape anyone we want.....not.

>true freedom is letting the people decide what your rights are
That acutally scares me, it really, truely scares me.
'The people' are mostly panicy idiots looking to make their lives as boring as possible. Those same people would love it if they could make your life like theirs incase any of your interesting life should bleed over into their own.
"true freedom is letting the people decide what your rights are. "
Great, then I will start by deciding you do not get the right to vote. I think I will remove your fredom of speach next. Don't worry, I will only be choosing your rights.
YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO POT. But I have to go SO bad!
true freedom is letting the people decide what your rights are.
So that's what a statement looks like when turned at right angles to reality.
What's with all of the Orwellian quotes this month? We already have a perfect candidate for a Ministry of Truth Award, and this one's deserving of "Freedom Is Slavery".
okay, let's do away with society and rape anyone we want...
Okay. Let's start from you.
YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO POT.
Are you talkin' to me? Are you talkin' to ME?!? Well, there's no one else here so you must be talkin' to me! I have every right to pot. I may not smoke it, true, but why should a plant be illegal?
Well, all that kibosh leads to nothing and has a logical falacy. If you rape, you´re interferring with other people´s rights, that´s the point. If you decide to ruin your life, it´s up to you.
If you thought with intelligence, not culturally and falsely religiously ridden, well, even if objectively speaking it´s not good for health, well, you just walked away and that´s all(are you stopping anyone who eats high-colesterol sweets?). If you don´t, it means that you have a very coercitive vision of liberty.
In the Democratic People's Republic of America the interest of the collective is more important than the freedom of the individual, comrade. All through the people; all for the people!
Haha, some of them are so far right they've come out on the left end of the spectrum again.
true freedom is letting the people decide what your rights are
I really shouldn't read these things so early in the morning. I wasn't prepared for a contradiction as powerful as this...it almost caused my head to explode!
Freedom Is Slavery award n+1th'd
True freedom is letting 'the people' decide what my rights are ... collective relativism. Well, just because a lot of people want it or believe it's right, doesn't mean it is. If it weren't for the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights we'd be living by majority rule as he sees it. This is what xtians seem to want but I'm not seeing this guy using any religious argument. His morals seem to be etched in the same thin glass, but one doesn't have to have religion or be a fundie to express the fear that if we do away with society (I'm unclear as to what he means by this) that he'd suddenly start raping .. or continue raping but in plain sight. A weak grasp on his own morals and ethics is no argument for restrictive laws and rule for all of us.
"okay, let's do away with society and rape anyone we want.....not."
Uh, Ethan, do you want to rape someone?
Okay, let's get a majority vote. Who thinks that only the people present at this voting should have all authority?
Motion passes.
Let's vote on what we get to do with the people that disagree with us. Who wants to be able to have them tortured until they see just as we see things?
Motion passes.
(Up untill this point the guy probably agrees)
Let's vote on making Buddhism the national religion.
Motion passes.
Ethan: WHAT THE FUCK? I DON'T WANT TO BE NO FREAKING BUDDHIST! FEAR GOD AND WORSHIP JESUS!
(His profile says he is christian)
Fact of life: stable societies can only be created and sustained when the members of said society mutually agree on certain constraints on behavior.
You may not agree with those restrictions, but they are necessary to maintain a state of coherence and co-operation. That said, equating the prohibition against marijuana with the prohibition against rape is just plain stupid.
Yes, lets ban a plant that grows naturally, but allow man-made drugs like cigarettes and alcohol legal, which are far worse for you anyway.
Looks like someone prefers alienable, divisible, and retractable privileges to fundamental rights. Uncomfortable with freedom, are we? Maybe we should vote away your privilege to be uncomfortable about it...
But as far as the whole "collective relativism= they negate each other nicely," I'm at a loss. Can anyone translate this one to English?
Funny, I always thought true freedom was making my own decisions. Wow, have I been wrong! Thanks for clearing things up, Ethan. NOT!
Just because that right is taken away does not mean that I don't have the right, it's just misplaced right now...
The thing that makes this even more ridiculous is using a 'joke' like NOT!
Did I oversleep? Is it still 1991? It's not? That's a bummer. 21 Skidoo and I like Ike, can't you find a phrase from the last five years at least? Heaven's to murgatroid.
I wonder if this guy would appreciate something Bill Hicks said about pot...
"Making marijuana illegal is like saying God made a mistake!
You can see it, can't ya? There's God, he's sitting there, looking at his creation, then he says to himself...
'Oh my Meeeeeeee....! I left pot on the planet! Shit! I shouldn't have smoked that joint on the 3rd day. If I leave something on the planet that has positive aspects and grows everywhere, people will think that it's okay to use it! Damn, now I'm gonna have to create Republicans!'"
What If God Smoked Cannibus
If god had long hair-and a goatee,
and if eyes were pretty glazed-if he looked spaced out,
would you buy his story,
would you believe he had an eye infection.
and yeah yeah, god looks baked,
yeah yeah, god smells good,
yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah.
what if god smoked cannibus,
hit the bong like some of us,
drove a tye-dyed microbus,
and he subscribes to rolling stone(d).
when god made this place in the beginning,
did he plant any seeds or did he put them there
for adam and eve, so they'd be hungry
for the apple that the snake was always offering.
and yeah yeah, god rolls great,
yeah yeah, god smells good
yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah.
what if god smoked cannibus,
do you s'pose he had a buzz,
when he made the platypus,
when he created earth - our home...
...does he like pearl jam or the stones...
...and do you think he rolls his own...
...up there in heaven on the throne...
...and when the saints go marching home...
...maybe he sits and smokes alone...

"true freedom is letting the people decide what your rights are."
Actually, that's as close to the opposite of freedom that I can imagine.
Confused?
