The arrogance of these people is what truly bothers me the most.
...says the man who thinks we should not be allowed to marry because he thinks gays are icky. Who is really more arrogant here? Me thinking that I have the right to be in a legally recognized relationship, with all the rights and responsibilities that entails, despite your personal beliefs, or you for thinking that your personal beliefs override my personal preferences?
"I'm entitled to everything you have. I will become you. My behavior is normal if I get enough people to say it is."
Careful with that, you realize that not long ago you were making the appeal to popularity when you were trying to outlaw gay marriage.
Charles Manson got 3+ people to think his behavior and thoughts were normal. He preyed on the most vulnerable, stupid people to do his bidding.
Conflating a loving relationship between two consenting adults with a cult. Classy.
Politicians are Charles Manson, LGBT are Charles Manson AND his minions, in an analogy. They weren't satisfied with tolerance. So I withdraw my tolerance of them.
You never OFFERED tolerance. You never even offered an agreement to disagree. All you offered was to turn the other way as long as we pretended to be straight enough that you could ignore us, and not clamor for much more than not being beaten to death in the streets. As much, anyways.
I had really hoped I wouldn't have to enact social Scorched Earth.
What...?
1. There is no compromise to be had with LGBT.
You know what? You're right. I'm tired. Tired of dealing with having to jump through hoops, having to plan my vacations away from places that I could be incarcerated or killed, tired of being told that I should be happy that I'm not being implicity and overtly persecuted anymore...just, you know, subtle nudges here and there. I'm tired of hearing people talking about the "queen" or "flamer" over there who happens to be a little effeminate, and most of all, I'm fucking sick and tired of people like you telling me that the relationship I have is less valid than your own. So yes, I will accept nothing less that true, real equality.
2. LGBT will not receive conversation, information, advice, services, help, or be associated with by me, in any way.
Oh heavens, whatever shall I do. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.
3. I will verbally confront any who support them and their movement, and really ask hard how fascism, tyranny, and attention who**ng is a good thing for society, and to teach to children.
By all means, please do. Mind, you're going to have to explain to me how raising children to be ashamed of who they are, what they are and of anything that they feel that might be odd is "good for them." Or how you can in good conscience tell those children that they are evil sinners if they turn out to be gay. Or indeed, how my relationship affects you. At all.
4. I will not live in, do business with, or seek employment in any state which supports an unconstitutional, fascist movement and then makes unconstitutional rulings about said movement.
Enjoy Iran. I hear it's lovely this time of year.
5. I will continue to point out how Roe V Wade did the same thing, and how abortion is now overwhelmingly outlawed even as a felony in the majority of states.
Except...it's...not...?
Congratulations, LGBT. If I didn't hate you before, I do now.
Yeah, well you're not exactly a ray of fucking sunshine on my cup of coffee either, bucki.
