Murder shouldn't be a choice, an abortion in this case, is murder. How suicidal would this girl feel knowing a baby that was half her, is doomed and never given a chance?

Just because a baby is still a tiny fetus, it's still a human being.

I really want to smack Obama upside the head on this, if abortion had been legal when his own mother became pregnant out of wedlock, she probably would have aborted HIM!!!

You are completely insensitive to her. She shouldn't be forced to carry a baby to term that she didn't even want to carry in the first place.

If half of the baby is her, what do you think the other half of it is, you stupid twat? It'd serve as a constant reminder of the fact that she was raped, and I highly doubt she'd want that.

This one is a murky area. As a pro-life libertarian, I do believe that the law should generally presume life to exist absent a legal definition that society can agree on and does not violate anyone's liberty.

However, it is equally sickening and cruel to force this girl to keep the foetus that clearly she never intended to have and was the result of a particularly heinous and vicious crime.

She has a decision to make, and while I do believe that abortion generally is a highly undesirable option, and one that should only be done when absolutely necessary, I am in no position to say that this girl must keep it solely because of my philosophical views.

You sir are a disgusting shit-stain on humanity for:

a.) demanding that the girl keep it even though she will likely off herself (and taking the foetus with it)
b.) playing the armchair mental health professional when clearly you have no credentials in the field whatsoever
c.) throwing this onto President-elect Obama and thus politicising the entire matter.

From someone who has been in this girl's position (I was 13, not 14), you are full of shit. The trauma of the rape overshadows the trauma of abortion. If i had not miscarried, I would probably have aborted.

Oh, wait - abortion laws here were written in 1900! They say I cannot abort without physical or mental illness, and the opinion of four doctors. Fuck you, you fundie retards. I have known girls who got pregnant at 14 (mostly out of stupidity, not sexual assault) who did not abort, and now they have no lives, no future and are 'stuck' (if you pardon the term) with a child who took it all away from them. Because that's not a recipe for abuse.

Every women and girl has the right to have an abortion if she chooses-especially if she is pregnant from being raped. This 14 year old girl has already been traumatized so much- and has had whats left of her childhood destroyed-she shouldn't be forced to go through the hell of teen pregnancy and of raising her rapist's baby. Sometimes these Pro-lifers piss me off so much-they just scream "Dont get an abortion" without thinking about how the women might feel,her the circumstance in which she got pregnant .Maybe she cannot afford to take care of a baby,maybe she doesnt want kids,maybe she is a 15 year old girl who,with a baby wouldnt be able to complete high school and go to college,maybe she was raped.But noooooooooooo- a 1 month old fetus is totally a thinking feeling person. Just take for example the 12 year old girl who was raped an impregnated-everyone on CafeMom just went she should keep it or- "well by the time i was 12 i was an adult so I could totally take care of myself and a baby."Doesn't the girl get a say in hat happens to her body?

She's only 14 years old, her body isn't really ready to carry a fetus to full term yet. Plus, her mind isn't really ready to care for and raise a baby.

The child has the right to decide on her own if she wants to go through with the pregnancy or not. If the thought that a "baby that was half her, is doomed and never given a chance" is more horrible to her than actually carrying the fetus to term, then she should have the right to decide to keep it. It sounds like PG thinks they are forcing her to have an abortion.

Abortions were legal long before Obama was elected, how is it his fault? And, if his mother had had an abortion, he wouldn't be here to feel sorry about it, stupid. How do you think the fetus, that God aborted from me in the 11th week, feel about God?
