(On Alan Turing being pardoned of his conviction of homosexuality)
What's next. Pardons for pedophiles?

No, only for people who haven't harmed anyone. Alan Turing was a genius, and he was, in effect, killed by the government. He DESERVES a pardon, asshole!
So many layers of stupid.
1. Turing was convicted on laws repealed since his death. The punishment imposed messed with his body and likely drove him to suicide.
2. As others have said, Turing co-founded fields of mathematics and science that made ignorant posts possible.
3. He was also one of the heroes of World War II, not by storming a beach but by breaking Nazi codes.
4. For the last time, homosexuality and pedophilia HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER, despite whatever "educational" film you saw in the 1950s.
No, pardons for horse's asses like you.
Besides which, one moment of Alan Turing's life and works did more for this old world than centuries of useless douchebags like you.
What's next. Pardons for pedophiles?
No, pardons for true patriots who had helped their country to resist the Axis powers and Nazi enslavement.
Well... pedophilia is legal in certain countries (in the sense that there is no actual age of consent) *cough* Saudi Arabia *cough*
So... you people have problems with 2 consenting adults doing what they want with their lives why?

Alan Turing was a national hero.
He should have been given a medal and an endowed chair at the university of his choice.
Instead, he was tortured and driven to suicide.
What crap!
Because of Alan Turing and the Ultra decrypts, it is reckoned that WW2 was shortened by two years. If Hitler had another two years, then he would have got his atomic bomb and intercontinental missiles, perhaps winning him the war. At the very least, Turing saved 10's of millions of lives. That should warrant a dirty great big statue as well as a pardon. We treated him shoddily after the war; the very least that we can do today is give him a pardon.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
