Unbelievable!! All legal citizens of this country need to respect the FACT that this country was FOUNDED on Christian beliefs. What is so hard about that? We respect other religions. Why can't people just respect this as a part of our country. The other religions or even the atheists do what they want to do. I just don't understand why everyone can't get along when it comes to religion.

Don't look to the atheists for an answer to that one. It's you theists who are killing each other by the truckload. Also, the US was founded as a secular nation whether you like it or not. Treaty of Tripoli, bitch.
"We respect other religions."
*cough* bullshit! *cough*
"Why can't people just respect this as a part of our country."
Because it's not part of our country. Nowhere in the U.S. Constitution or other founding documents is Jesus mentioned.
"I just don't understand why everyone can't get along when it comes to religion."
You mean you can't understand why everyone doesn't let Christians force their beliefs on everyone else and ride roughshod over the First Amendment. Usually it's the oppressors who can't understand why people don't like being oppressed.
"What is so hard about that?"
That it actually wasn't?
"Why can't people just respect this as a part of our country."
Even if it were true, it's because it's not treated as a historical thing, it's treated as an excuse to not respect other religions.
> All legal citizens of this country need to respect the FACT that this country was FOUNDED on Christian beliefs.
No. The fact is that United States of America was founded on the principle that no one can figure out which of these "Christian beliefs" is best, so none should be endorsed over others. Just like no other kind of religion should be promoted over others.

If you truly respect other religions, it raises a question: what exactly are you looking for? Why do you see this "founding on Christian beliefs" as a fact to be enshrined, recognized and respected, and understood as a "part of a country"?
In other words:
How does "respecting" this "founding on Christian beliefs" as a "part of a country" promote religious tolerance and coexistence?
"Unbelievable!! All legal citizens of this country need to respect the FACT that this country was FOUNDED on Christian beliefs. What is so hard about that?"
Give me one instance where Jesus Christ is mentioned specifically in the US Constitution. Just one.
I just don't understand why everyone can't get along when it comes to religion.
This coming from the one religious group that's always trying to force their belief system upon the rest of the country? You just killed my irony meter.
First: Christan beliefs? Try Deistic and possibly Masonic.
Second: You don't know what respect is. And why should you, when your petty god demands you convert everyone you can, come hell or high water?
Third: Then explain why you, Buster, can put up a statue of Jesus or the Ten Commandments with hardly any trouble except when on government property, but atheists have to listen to you holler and bawl if they just want a Humanist statue set up on a spot that's not federally owned.
Fourth: Take a look in the mirror. There's your answer.
"I just don't understand why everyone can't get along when it comes to religion."
And all over the world, every irony meter simultaneously went supernova.
All legal citizens of this country need to respect the FACT that this country was FOUNDED on Christian beliefs.
1) While the USA was founded by Christians, its law is not based in Biblical law. 2) To acknowledge the USA is based on Christian beliefs is a violation of the 1st Ammendment. 3) Capitalizing words does not make your argument stronger.
What is so hard about that?
Because it's not true.
We respect other religions.
I see. So saying Muslims are filthy, degenerate, heathen scum is respect?
Why can't people just respect this as a part of our country.
Because it's not true.
I just don't understand why everyone can't get along when it comes to religion.
Perhaps it's the exclusivity mechanism that all religious dogmas seem to have that is creating this hostility between faiths.
"Unbelievable!! All legal citizens of this country need to respect the FACT that this country was FOUNDED on Christian beliefs."
What country are you from? If you live in Vatican City, you have a fair point.
"I just don't understand why everyone can't get along when it comes to religion."
Interesting question indeed!
I get along perfectly well with my friends who are Muslim, Christian, Buddhists and atheists. Mainly because we either refrain from mentioning our religion or lack of same, or because we treat each other's religiosity with respect and benevolent interest. None of us is trying to tell the others that s/he is right and that the others are wrong.
Why can't people just respect this as a part of our country
Because it's not a fact, it's a complete lie.
Unbelievable!! All legal citizens of this country need to respect the FACT that this country was FOUNDED on Christian beliefs.'
Treaty of Tripoli. First amendment allows people to believe what they wish. Bible says kill those of us who worship or revere other deities.
We respect other religions. Why can't people just respect this as a part of our country.
If you respected other religions you would have no problems with us expressing our beliefs nor with followers.
The other religions or even the atheists do what they want to do. I just don't understand why everyone can't get along when it comes to religion.
Why do you take issue with people doing what they want? And we can't get along because you denigrate us at every chance you get
Unbelievable!! All legal citizens of this country need to respect the FACT that this country was FOUNDED on Christian beliefs.
What Christian beliefs was it founded on? I've ran into people saying stuff like that on Christian News Network, and no one ever has a good answer for that question. I just looked back at a conversation I had there with someone almost a month ago, who said something like that, and I asked him "which ones?" THREE TIMES at least, and the only answer he ever gave me was that I needed a history lesson to understand it.
Confused?
