I watch the real news channel and thats FoxNews! Obama is trying to implement the abortion factor in hospitals to where if you are not going to assist a Dr. in an abortion, then you will lose your job! That is obsured! and it dumbs down the freedom of religion factor in the constitution! He does not defend the constitution nor does he defend the United States of America! He isnt even black! He is mixed!

Okay, dipshit, when you get into a car accident or need surgery, we're going to call in a team of Jehova's Witnesses to provide your care, and we'll see what you think of "freedom of religion" being practiced in the hospital when you're lying there dying because they refuse to give you a blood transfusion that's against THEIR idiotic religious superstitions.

Freedom of religion means you get to practice whatever religion you want to, as long as it doesn't infringe upon anyone else's rights, especially when it comes to deying the LEGAL medical care.

Even though this SHOULD be the law,
I seriously doubt the OP's claim is true, because Obama doesn't have that kind of backbone for liberal causes, unfortunately...but if it is, good for him.

No, many hospital employees do not have to assist in abortions, however, if you are a gynocology nurse or a surgical assistant, you need to perform the job or get a different job.

Actually, he's not completely wrong about the absurdity of requiring Nurses who are already working to consent to assisting in abortion as a condition of employment. It's as absurd as if a Fundie Government required a contract to never perform abortion as a condition of employment.

A requirement to violate ones principles, however rationally or irrationally held can't actually be enforced. The prison guard can't be forced to operate an electric chair, the science teacher can't be forced to teach creationism.

A job is not just 'take it or leave it'. The employee also has the right to stipulate what they will or will not do. The maid can choose 'I don't do windows'. If they're hired as a maid on those terms, great, it's not their job.

You don't sack these people unless its specified in the contract they agreed to do it. And if you do sack them, I'd be handing out really huge damages bills in a wrongful dismissal case.

Having said that, I really need to disassociate myself from his racism, religion, grammar and spelling.

Why would any religious person with religious objections to abortion get a job assisting a doctor who performs them in the first place? They still have the freedom to worship however they choose, they just don't have the right to force their views on others by refusing to do their jobs.

He doesn't defend the constitution? By allowing everyone to have the freedoms it protects? And how can you say that he's not defending the US when he's sending 30,000 troops to the Middle East, in which war you Christian Republicans claim is necessary to protect us from evil Muslim terrorists?

Now, I haven't watched the Daily Show in a while, but I'm pretty sure that Fox News is not a real news channel.

Something about the way this guy wrote it suggests that he thinks that doctors could just rope in anyone unlucky enough to be walking by the OR and they'll have to assist in the abortion. Just saying.
