The desires of the very few are now outweighing the rights of the vast multitude. God help Western Civilization. Perversion has the support of the courts and is hailed as the good and moral choice, while traditional values of sexual purity are demonized by the popular courts and the press.

It really won't be very long now at all. But we, in the US are going to go through a crucible of persecution over this before we are called up. Be ready folks. Be ready with that shield of faith and the sword of the Word. Be ready to answer before courts and magistrates and give the reason for the JOY you have.

All the perks we've enjoyed as members of the greatest nation on earth are about to be taken from us because we will not bow to society's pressure to approve of salacious behavior. I don't mean we as a nation, I mean we as The Church. The persecution is already here and it's only going to increase till the Rapture.

If you are reading this and you don't know Jesus as your Lord and Savior - I IMPLORE YOU ON CHRIST'S BEHALF - be reconciled to Him through repentance and belief. Very shortly, the world is going to endure a terrible Tribulation and your chances of making it out alive at the other end of that 7 years is very slim indeed. Your eternal soul is in peril if you do not act NOW.

Generally in civilized countries the few are protected from the tyranny of the majority. Just because you voted on something doesn't automatically make it law--or even "right"--if it's going to oppress others, segregate them somehow or strip them of civil rights.

No. You have more debit than credit there. I wouldn't want to live in America. Her time of greatness was wasted under Bush II and his illegal war. America, sadly, has lost the respect of many peoples who are just as civilized - maybe more so - and whose cultures and histories go back a hell of a lot longer. Also I consider that I have far more freedom than most Americans. I don't live in such fear that I feel I need a gun, I can buy alcohol in the supermarket if I wish, I don't have a large section of the population that makes me afraid, I can walk on the street unaccompanied at any hour of the day or night and not worry about being attacked... And religious nuts don't get to have a say in the power structures of the country. We tend to live in houses, apartments in cities, towns and villages, not in trailer parks. We learn our neighbours languages and cross frontiers regularly to visit their countries. Over 90% of us have passports AND we use them. Our world does not stop at the garden gate.

I fear that God Bless mistakes resources and a large military for being a great nation. I don't. Time to get over yourself, God Bless - you and the rest of the wrapped-up-right

WHAT?!? You're making that shit up. I've never seen courts or the press demonize virgins. On the other hand people in society can hold their own opinion. And homosexuality is never shown as THE moral choice, it's just not vilified.

Not only are you part of just about every majority, you have a whole fucking geogrqaphic region that agrees with you: the Bible Belt. So sorry if I don't buy your persecution sob story.

1. The whole point of the Constitution and the courts are to keep the desires of the majority from taking away rights from the minority.

2. Your "vast multitude" claim is incorrect. The most recent polling has shown that gay marriage has the support of a plurality, verging on a majority, nationwide. The trend indicates that by ~2030, every state in the country (even states like Alabama and Mississippi) will have majority support for gay marriage. I'm betting that when *that* happens, you'll be whining that the court isn't protecting your minority view.

Being told that you can't treat a subset of the population like second-class citizens because you don't like who they choose to have sex with is *NOT* persecution. The only christians being persecuted are those in countries like China and Saudi Arabia. If being persecuted is a requirement to be raptured, I'm afraid only the people in those countries who face death every day for their beliefs are going to get raptured.

Your theology is so screwed up, even *YOU* don't seem to buy into it. If the only thing that matters is whether or not you believe in Jesus and say the magic words, then who CARES if you live until the end of the tribulation period or not. After all, all of the true believers will die* at the BEGINNING of the tribulation, so it seems that the sooner you die (as a believer,) the better off you are.

* - I'm sure mikitta would strenuously object to me calling being raptured dying, but it fits the definition. You no longer live on Earth and you're up in Heaven - sounds just like the traditional christian definition of being dead to me.

This is extremely cool. I can't wait. Although I fear that I'll have to. Indeed, I fear an extremely long wait. And I did so want to be there to observe the whooshfest first-hand, what a magnificent sight that would be, all the naked flyers soaring toward their clasping point. But it looks like I'll have to live for several billion more years at the very least before the rapture starts, according to mikitta where he or she states 'very shortly'. And we all know that the Rapturian meaning of 'very shortly' is never. Even poor mikitta's great, great, great grandchildren's great, great great grandchildren will long have been mouldering in their graves, and still the rapture won't have occurred. Bummer.

The time has come, ladies and gentlemen, for the increased spread and frequency of the persecution of fundamental cultists. Not only do the cultists themselves demand it, they actually require it in order to fulfill some arcane and ancient textual nonsense and to alleviate some peculiar mental aberrations. And, they actually enjoy it too (surely a grievous sin?). Society at large also has a need, but strictly for entertainment purposes. Although, what fundies call persecution is not what society at large calls persecution. Funny you say perks...because that is exactly what this is about. You are not being persecuted...you're just not getting the preferential treatment you are so accustomed to. The world isn't bowing and kissing your feet for your moral superiority, and you are responding to it like the spoiled brats you are. Just that people who are gay should/do have the same rights. Why is this so hard for you morons to understand?

Think of it this way. Let's say I run a bakery. And in this bakery I used to only sell chocolate cake. But then one day I start selling vanilla cake as well. I'm not stopping selling chocolate cake. I'm not saying that everyone has to buy vanilla cake now that I have it. I'm just offering a new option, because I realize that not everyone wants chocolate cake and, by selling both, I can make more people happy and, in the long run, do better business.
