It is indeed contrary to free market, capitalism and right-wing thinking to let people less wealthy than you have the same rights as you do. Democracy, on the other hand, is what being American is_supposed_to be about and that is highly social and moral goal. Too bad there are selfish, unethical, assholes like this guy here standing in the way of better things for everyone.

Yes, fuck those poor people for being so lazy and poor. Seriously if they would just get off their lazy asses and work they wouldn't be poor. Am I right, or am I right?

That's the beauty of what they've done in the U.S. They've got everybody at each other's throats over piddling bullshit.
It used to be in the Southern U.S. a white sharecropper would be just as poor as his black counterpart, but he could say, "Well, at least I ain't a nigger."
Today's version has us split over matters that don't matter just as much. Be it religion, social issues, whatever. Meanwhile people vote against their economic interests to keep in power an oligarcy that doesn't give a shit about America or people or the environment.
These are the same people who see teachers getting pensions and shout "Why should they get pensions?" instead of asking the proper question, "Why don't I get a pension?"

But when they and their children are living beneath the highway overpass in a fucking cardboard box, and those children are dying from easily curable or preventable diseases because they can't afford health insurance and immunizations, at least they can proudly proclaim, "At least I ain't no liberal-commie-hippie. And I'm pro-life."

Having read the entire article, what Vadum is actually arguing is not that poor people shouldn't be allowed to vote simply because they're poor, but because they support welfare programs that help the poor. Vadum doesn't have anything against poor people in general, just against anyone who votes in any way differently from him, and should therefore not be allowed to vote. But not even he can top one of the commenters who note that the segment of the population allowed to vote in the USA has increased massively since its founding, then argues that is a BAD thing.

This is one of those things that makes me want to believe in an afterlife. Because if there is any justice in the universe, then when these fuckers dies they will spend eternity suffering immensely for being one of the worst types of scum imaginable.
