I know it's hard to tell since it's all you fundies ever talk about lately, but Christianity is not simply "I hate gays" so I'm not sure how making anti-gay discrimination illegal can possibly be equated to outlawing Christianity, especially since most Christians are now against legal discrimination. Furthermore, even if being anti-gay IS what you consider to be the entirety of the Christian message, then I have good news for you: you can still hate them to your little black heart's content. Hell, you can even claim that Jesus said to hate the poor and love the rich. The only thing you can't do is deny gays their rights based on that opinion. Just like I can't deny fundies their rights just because I think their beliefs are insane.

That could only be done by amending the Constitution. The law in the US doesn't even allow schools to prevent students from wearing crosses or rosaries or prevent Christians from holding protests against gay pride celebrations.

Looking at the Democratic Party of the US, from a Socialist Swede's point of view, the Democratic Party is very, very far from Communist. It's definitely to the right of the Swedish Liberal party, and pretty similar to our Conservative party.
I'd guess that a majority of Democrats are Christians, as a huge majority of Americans are Christians. They would hardly seek to outlaw their own religion. Where in the Bible is the US of A mentioned, btw?
