God's true nature isn't accepted because of the previous foundation of sinful thinking already built. That is why you see more children coming to faith than adults. It isn't because they are gullible and do not understand. It is because they CAN understand better before their thinking is distorted by sin and independence.

The fact that a child's brain isn't fully developed and they have lower levels or reasoning than an adult probably has nothing to do with it, hey?
As a child, I thought it was really fun to play on top of the dumpster. We climbed it, and weren't exactly bothered by going into it.
As an adult, I know that garbage is unsanitary and you never know what could be in there and really, it is unwise, unhealthy and can be dangerous to even be on top of it.
Kind of explains the thinking, or lack thereof, of children.
Why would it be a poe? I hear this crap on a near daily basis, where I work.
Of course, the possibility that he could be wrong about this, because sin and independent thinking has distorted his mind, is never taken into consideration. Because implicit in every such claim, is the idea that the speaker is somehow an exception to the rule that judges everyone else, on a different spiritual plane than the rest of us, etc.
Or it could be because you force them into these institutions, where they hear these grim fairy tales [pun intended], and wind up believing this shit because the people they trust are telling them it's the truth.
These are the same kids who believe in Santa, the tooth fairy, easter bunny, and monsters under the bed.
Oh yeah, it has NOTHING to do with a child's gullibility.
Why do some people refuse to move past the emotional age of 8? Oh yeah, because according to them, that makes them unaccountable.
I got news for you, honey. I believed in God as a child because I was gullible. But you know what else? I first becamed disturbed by God's nature around the age of six.
And wow, now indpendence is a sin? Geez, you learn something new every day. I guess a woman who chooses to live on her own and not get married will burn in Hell, right?
So that's why little kids believe in monsters under the bed/in the closet, the tooth fairy, Santa, etc? 'Cause those are all true and kids just understand them better than adults?
if independence is sin, and adults have distorted thinking, then shouldn't we enslave all of our children in order to 'save' them?
wait...we do already.. it's called sunday school.
This is why children left on their own and not taught anything about God, Christ, or the Bible, will invariably develop into Christians.
Oh no, wait...
Children generally have no choice but to believe what adult authority figures tell them.
Generally.
Stubborn brats like me, however, learn at a young age that grownups can be full of shit.
Children believe in the Easter Bunny, too, before you get too smug.
@Skyknight : Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge, which resulted in their expulsion from paradise, so using the knowledge they gained is sinful and against God's design, nearest I can tell.
Well if people understand less about religion as they get older, why not have a three-year-old pope?
Wait, I take it back. The last thing the Catholic heirarchy needs is more access to children. Stick to absurdly old men.
no, it's the gullibility. Young children generally expect their parents to be correct about everything all of the time and never expect them to lie to them. Plus, it's just another fairy tale to swallow amongst teh easter bunnies and santa clauses.
if you go to the thread the last two words aren't actually there, and it would say at the bottom of the post if he'd edited it. unless the mods on CF can edit posts without it's showing up, which I doubt, since I've seen a few posts there with moderator edits shown, I suspect that was added by someone else.
Well, If I were God, I´d be worried if I had to make my creation imperfect in order to accept me. Besides, there is always the terrible fact that, once they grow up, they abandone me. Tragic eh?
Confused?
