[Re. Why Christians should disable Youtube comments]
First, if you allow comments, mean people are going to mock the Word of God and use vulgarity and curse words. Sadly, the “F___ word” is common and allowed on YouTube. It is mainly for this reason that I always disable comments. I went to look up a Chinese recipe and found a very nice video. There were comments attacking the man's culture and making fun of him, calling him names and saying rotten things about his cooking. I then understood why other members don't allow comments on their cooking videos. It's much worse for any videos praising the Word of God or the Son of God. Every form of vulgar slander and potty-talk is found on the internet. This evil world hates God. I am preaching the truth and don't care what the God-haters and blasphemers have to say. I'll never enable comments, because this wicked generation is characterless and totally devoid of God.

Well, open comments are not always of the quality of FSTDT, so I cannot say this paragraph from DJS is fundie.
First time I don't WTF him. I shall make a wish(that will not be fulfilled, as it's just a stupid superstition, but still).
And plus, people might disagree with you.
But he's actually complaining about rude comments on Youtube. Stupid comments on Youtube are as common as leaves on trees.

...and you no longer reply to e-mails for 'health reasons'
That bad back/neck of yours 24/7/365 must play merry hell with your typing your screeds; you'd think that you wouldn't want to exacerbate that pain in any way, shape or form?
But then, how would you justify your sad little non-life if you didn't ...?!
Enjoy your pain, you little sadomasochist, you. >:D
Just because you find ways of ignoring criticism, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Rather like your 'God', eh?!
If another Christian, like one that may read a Bible version that isn't the KJV, refused to allow comments or blocked you from commenting, you'd take it as part of a global conspiracy linked to the NWO to silence dissent against Satanic Bible versions and all the other insane conspiracies you subscribe to. If God's word was true it would be able to withstand such scrutiny and, if you were secure in your faith, you wouldn't be riled by the trolls that frequent certain websites.
"There were comments attacking the man's culture and making fun of him"
Welcome to Youtube, but this kind of behaviour isn't limited to that site, unfortunately. Why, I know of a site called Jesus is Savior that regularly attacks Jews and their culture.
"I went to look up a Chinese recipe and found a very nice video. There were comments attacking the man's culture and making fun of him, calling him names and saying rotten things about his cooking."
Yep, good old Christian Southern folk do that a lot.
Most Fundies shut down comments because their vids are lying bullshit and attacks on pretty much anyone outside of their sect. They are often purposely trying to anger people.
To be sure, Youtube comments represent some of the dumbest thoughts made by human beings outside of certain image/b/oards That Shall Remain Nameless, so I can see a certain appeal to switching off the comments. When all you get is an endless tidal wave of sheer stupid, you naturally want to slow it down to something manageable. Putting yourself out there takes both a bit of ego, and a thick skin.
Stewart may have the ego, but not the thick skin. And I figure he gets tired of people pointing out that he's a registered sex offender.

This from the same guy who said:
"Asian women are notoriously whorish and dress whorishly."

If you really didn't care what anyone says, you would leave the comments open and try to get some hilarity out of the terrible grammar.
@Tempus
"And I figure he gets tired of people pointing out that he's a registered sex offender."
I always figured that maybe, just maybe, people would stop beating on that horse if he'd just once admit that he did a bad thing, that he really doesn't have any authority to judge others for legal, harmless sex acts, and take responsibility for it instead of trying to pass it off as God's will. But hey, he's a fundie. Even with God's direct intervention, some things are still just impossible.
“Sadly, the “F___ word” is common and allowed on YouTube. It is mainly for this reason that I always disable comments.”
Bullshit. You disable comments because people point out your errors, your hypocrisy, and your crimes.
“I went to look up a Chinese recipe and found a very nice video. There were comments…”
Good lord, why did you read them?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
