That's just the problem: if nature makes you a man with a feminine anatomy, or a woman with a masculine anatomy then you're already an aberration (and you can feel like it, too); the surgery is to fix that mistake (and don't go saying that nature doesn't make mistakes).
I have a friend -- a biological male -- who was born a hermaphrodite. At birth, his parents said to keep the vagina and to remove the penis. As he got older, he had the surgery to give him the right parts.
If you see a problem with this, it should be in the decision his parents made, but even there, I'm not convinced they did anything inherently wrong.
It's none of your fucking business what I choose to do with my body. And this time, you can't use the "innocent child" argument. If I want different genitals, then damn it, I'm going to go get them.

Not being a transsexual and not knowing any I can't speak from experience and so can't be certain but it is my belief that if people would stop trying to solidify gender roles and push men and women into two very distinct categories (and instead treated gender with more fluidity) there would be far fewer people who feel the need to go through sex-change operations.

Sure, a hermaphrodite might be outside the concept of social normalcy held by most people, but it's still mutilation, unless the hermaphrodite in question actually is old enough to consent to such things and goes along with it.
Yes, you will stay a man or a woman depending on how you were born. Sex changes are essentially just cosmetic surgery combined with hormone therapy. You don't ACTUALLY gain the ability to make babies, you just gain what looks like a vagina and what can work as a vagina during sex. No aberration. Just a change in appearance.
It'd be fucking awesome if they could totally redo your pelvic plumbing, though.

You have not understood the trans-gender problem, at all. Nature has given them a set of gender genitals, but the personality and the brain of the other gender. Nature fucked up, not the afflicted person.
Why exactly is gender itself important to society, let alone so critically important that to question it is sick beyond belief? If half of all people declared, "Fuck you, I have no gender at all. I'm just me," why would THAT even be a problem?
You know, I really don't care. I find sex change kind of icky but in the end it's not my body being changed, so who the hell cares?
And next time you want liposuction or any kind of cosmetic surgery, Mesian, we'll throw you in jail because that will make you an aberration.

Crude explanation: Everyone initially develops as female, then Y chromosome genes kick in and sets off the chemicals needed to initiate the process of getting guy parts.
Funny how the people who are not affected by it, either by being transgendered, wanting a sex change, or having a family member, are so passionate about something that will never affect them.

Well we probably can say that about any operation. Cancer, tumor, elective surgery, etc. So in essence all surgeons should be put to death because they are going against nature.
PS: I wonder if these people are against breast enlargements and general plastic surgery. It seems that lots of 'Christian' models are all for changing their natural appearance.
What if "nature" screws up? It happens all the time.. in fact, it is not uncommon for sex differentiation to not complete. The poor individuals have their gender chosen for them and undergo operations to make them male or female before they are old enough to know what the hell is even going on. Then they grow up, confused as hell and society calls them fags because whoever made the decision for them was wrong.
So... because nature made you without clothes, you also become an aberration if you wear them, right?
