Proof? What proof? BTW the bible doesn't count.
WTF is a wege board?
He means a Ouija board. I'm fairly certain I'm spelling it wrong, too, but at least I'm closer D: It's that thing where two or more people grab a pointer, put it on a board with letters and numbers, ask a question, and then spirits or whatever are supposed to make it move and spell out an answer.
I think they mean Quija boards. Though doesn't the church tend to condemn such things as "dark magic" and all that garbage?
So if it's evil and wrong and shouldn't be used, doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of trying to say you can use them as "proof" of life after death?
And why would ghosts and spirits need a deity to account for their existence, anyway?
I once heard a first hand story from someone who tried to use one of those boards.
She claimed knifes levitated out of the kitchen drawer and started flying around till they got stuck in the wall. I told her that she was probably dreaming.
Seriously, if those boards worked, and you could get a "angry" ghost to levitate knives, why aren't we having research done into ghost powered airplanes? I mean, that's one hell of a "clean" power source. And we won't have to worry about it running out. People die every day by the thousands.

For one thing, God =/= spirits. Also, there is no "proof" of "some spirit."
"The reason is there is wege boards. I don't know if i spelled it right, but i think yall know what i am talking about."
Ouija Boards. Continue.
"Idk if you guys believe in those."
Nope, and idk is a shitty acronym.
"but I have heard some pretty convincing stories."
Me too, but they were about some guy named "Jesus" who walked on water, and then turned it into wine.
"IF there was no God then there would probaly not be life after death"
Exactly.
How can you believe in no god if there is proof of some spirit out there.
Well, assuming there *is* proof of "some spirit out there," that's not proof of God. It's just proof of "some spirit out there." Unless you're defining any "spirit" "out there" as God.
And Ouija boards do not constitute proof of spirits, since they work based on the ideomotor effect .
And I don't see that God not existing would necessarily mean that there is no afterlife; again, there's a conflation there between the idea of any spirit existing apart from the body of a living, conscious being, and the existence of God, however you're defining God.
What the...? A tool, which fundies usually lambast as Satanic, is proof of God? That's just stupid. If anything, if the Ouija board really does work, that's proof of ghosts or Satan, not God. Way to convert someone to Hollywood-style Satanism.
"Some spirit"? You're joking, right? "Wege" boards? No, you didn't spell it right. It's "ouija", you dumb fuck.
IF there was no God then there would probaly not be life after death
Gee, you think? Maybe there isn't any life after death. Did that ever occur to you inside that concrete skull?
I've been in on an "ouija party" three times when I was young. Each time remarkable, astonishing messages were spelled out as we all rested out fingers on the planchette.
Of course, that wasn't a surprise to me since all three times I was gently moving the planchette myself. You should have seen the look on her face when it spelled out "They're coming to get you, Barbara."
Sandman, that wasn't very nice. Funny as hell, certainly. Did you let Barbara in on the joke or let her stew in paranoia?
And if the fundies are arguing for the existence of Gawd by using ouija boards, their religion is dying out. They might as well justify Gawd by pulling rabbits from a hat.
How can you believe in no god if there is proof of some spirit out there.
It's not hard because there is no conclusive proof out there.
The reason is there is wege boards. I don't know if i spelled it right, but i think yall know what i am talking about.
You mean ouija boards. They don't work, they are just superstition and therefore not proof. Please try again.
Aside from the obvious idiocy of using the ouija board as proof (debunked many times, particularly amusingly by the almighty Penn & Teller), there is not in fact any direct correlation between the existence of ghosts and spirits and the existence of a deity.
Steptoe & Son did quite a funny skit with an Ouija board too, in one episode - the son deliberately manipulates the pointer to spell out "hitler" when they ask the spirit's name - the look on his dad's face is priceless.
As 1 of my favorite Philosopher scientist, teacher once said:
"If some good evidence for life after death were announced, I'd be eager to examine it; but it would have to be real scientific data, not mere anecdote. As with the face on Mars and alien abductions, better the hard truth, I say, than the comforting fantasy." [Carl Sagan

A brief scan shows that I do not care for them at all. They are baseless and stupid.
Also, that was a question. Do you know what a question mark is for?
"How can you believe in no god if there is proof of some spirit out there."
Absolutely, if there was unbiased, well-controlled testing that produced good, reproducable evidence that there IS a spirit, I would have to reexamine many of my views.
"The reason is there is wege boards. I don't know if i spelled it right, but i think yall know what i am talking about."
Ouija boards? That's your evidence for a spirit? Oh, c'mon.
"Idk if you guys believe in those. but I have heard some pretty convincing stories."
As a rational, reasonable, logical, atheistic thinking person, I do not believe in the supernatural of any kind, certainly not functioning ouija boards.
Stories are just that, STORIES. Stories are not scientific tests and are very weak evidence at best.
"IF there was no God then there would probaly not be life after death"
You're dead right (pun intended) about that, chrissy. There is no God, god or any other supernatural being and there is no life after death.
How can you believe in no god if there is proof of some spirit out there.
Show me this proof, and then we'll talk.
The reason is there is wege boards.
You mean "Ouija", and no, they aren't at all convincing. It's a little something called the ideomotor effect.
"IF there was no God then there would probaly not be life after death""
You think this is NEWS to us? The hell?
Wege boards are evil, dude!
No but seriously. The "wege" board stuff, if half the reports are true, do not justify faith in your bible, for one thing, or any gods. Just because in your fevered imagination "ghosts" and the like might be connected to gods does not mean they are.

I don't care very much for them at all, good sir.
How can you believe in no god if there is proof of some spirit out there.
If there is proof of some spirit out there, I'll believe that there is some spirit out there.
There is proof that spirits exist.
Therefore, I believe in spirits.
I don't believe in God, however, because there's no proof of God. Should you provide proof (well, evidence), I'll believe.
The reason is there is wege boards. I don't know if i spelled it right, but i think yall know what i am talking about.
Wedgie boards? You mean those prank devices that pull the underwear of your unsuspecting victim over his head?
...Oh, wait, you meant ouija boards!
Idk if you guys believe in those.
Nope. Long debunked. Ideomotor effect.
but I have heard some pretty convincing stories.
You believe in a magic sky fairy. Clearly, you are easily convinced.
IF there was no God then there would probaly not be life after death
Gee, you think?
Strictly speaking, there is no reason why the existence of a god would necessarily mean the existence of an afterlife (Judaism), nor is there any reason why the nonexistence of gods would necessarily mean the nonexistence of an afterlife/life beyond the death of your current body (Buddhism.) However, there is no evidence for any gods, nor evidence for any afterlife, therefore, you would not be justified in believing in either.
IF there was no God then there would probaly not be life after death
Simply not true. It's absolutely possible for life after death to exist without God. Your argument here seems to be "since there's no evidence of either, they must both be linked, and further they must also exist".
There's no evidence for vampires, nor for dogs that are intelligent enough to fly aeroplanes. But there is dubious 'proof' (i.e. compellingly-told stories that seem real until you think about them) of vampires, therefore I'm going to expect to hear from Captain Fido next time I fly.
Ouija boards (the name comes from 'oui' and 'ja', the French and German words for yes, respectively. Seriously, why can't anybody fucking spell that right?) don't work. There are no spirits moving the little table thing. So your argument that spirits are real, falls apart right out the gate.
There is no life o=after death, there are no spirits, there is no...well, you can finish that last part.

Lay it on me.
“How can you believe in no god if there is proof of some spirit out there.”
There are narwhal out there, would that make you believe in unicorns? “A” spirit may exist, but that has no bearing on a being who created the Earth as described in Genesis.
Or any other gods.
And that’s also waiting very patiently to prove this nameless ‘spirit’ out there somewhere?
“The reason is there is wege boards.”
You mean ‘ouija’ boards? I’ve played with a few. Nothing really compelling happened. Try again.
“I don't know if i spelled it right, but i think yall know what i am talking about.”
Barely.
“Idk if you guys believe in those.”
They exist. so do Tarot cards.
And Magic 8 Balls.
I’m stil an atheist.
“but I have heard some pretty convincing stories.”
Yes, anecdotes are out there. Very compelling… if they had happened to me. Friend of a friend of a friend of an internet story of some undated party with nameless attendees? Not terribly.
“IF there was no God then there would probaly not be life after death”
How do you figure?
If there IS a god, shouldn’t all ghosts be locked up in one or another afterlife? Wouldn’t us being able to interact with The Dead be a sign AGAINST there being an afterlife judge?
Confused?
