Why are children aborted? The following are reasons given in percentages: 1% - victims of incest or rape, 1% - fetal abnormality, 4% - doctor said that health would worsen if pregnancy continued, 50% - didn't want to be single parent or have problems in current relationship, 60% - could not afford child, 75% - child would interfere with lives, 95% - reasons of convenience: not incest, rape, physical condition of unborn or threatened health of mother.

These people think that women are just having abortions the way they have haircuts. Oh, I'll go in and have one while there's a special. (Vomit)
Ever heard of an ectopic pregnancy, assholes?
While I am pretty sure these percentages are completely taken out of this person's ass, they are possible - that is to say, just because that 75% of the people say that the child would interfere with their life doesn't mean that they weren't raped, their fetus doesn't have abnormalities, they don't have problems in their relationship, etc. The real problem here? That this person thinks that not being able to afford a child is a bad reason to have an abortion. Your right, its much better to be born to a poor mother who has no job and has to give it up to an orphanage where it lives off of taxes and leads a crappy life because it has no money and it won't get a good (if any) education.
When making up percentages, one may ensure they at the very least add up to no more than 100%.
That being said, Pi=3 award fifthed
OK, so *some* categories *could* overlap, but... the first three add to 6% and are not "reasons of convenience", so that's at least 101% right there.
So I'm gonna call Lying For Jeezus on this one. If you're making up crap, at least do it convincingly. (And Mike beat me to the "made up stats" punchline.)
Gene and Earline Moody should learn that, firstly:
1 + 1 + 4 = 6%, which means it wouldn't be 95%, but 94%.
Not that it would be anyway, as:
50 + 60 + 75 =/= 95%, but in fact over 100%, which in this instance is impossible.
0.75 + 0.75 + 3.75 = 5.25
The numbers were probably asspulled, but taking into account that most of the categories are not mutually exclusive and that some rounding could've taken place, a Pi = 3 award seems a bit hasty.
Fundie statisticians.
*snicker*
okay, let's say everyone who does it for a reason you don't like is unjustified. how does that mean that the 5% who are justified should be denied abortion just because everyone else makes stupid decisions? abortion is not (legally) forced on people. feel free to try and convince 95% of people that they don't really want an abortion. but if some cases justify abortion and some do not then taking away the option to have an abortion or not, depending on whether or not the situation justifies it, is stupid.
also, I know people who's parents would kick them out of the house in a heartbeat if they told their parents they were pregnant. becoming a 15-year-old, pregnant, homeless person with a grade 10 education is the kind of thing that interferes with one's life, but that doesn't mean it's trivial.
What are they going to do if they can't afford it? Even if the child is relinquished, someone still has to pay for the delivery. Not talking pre-natal care here, but simple delivery. Not cheap, and the only alternative is having the child at home with no care at all. Are these people saying that poor women should just pop 'em out at home with no medical supervision then walk them to the closest drop-off point IF they both make it? Ah - let's watch those infant and maternal mortality rates skyrocket!
To be fair, just because the statistics exceed 100% doesn't make it immediately false, since it's very possible for some to have had multiple reasons.
But still, after seeing everything else these loonies have posted up, I have good reason to believe these statistics came out of their ass.
And just like the statistics above, which are completely accurate, 100% of fundie women never have unplanned pregnancies, and 100% of fundies never disguise their daughters in scarves and sunglasses and sneak them into abortion clinics (or send them away to "visit relatives" for several years at a time).
No sir-ree. Anti-choice fundies are 100% completely perfect.
Except when they're 286% wrong!
Even if you overlap those (which I'm assuming is the case, for the sake of my sanity), the "reasons of convenience" and those that are specifically disqualified in "reasons of convenience" equal 101%.
Also, from what I've seen at all the Planned Parenthood physical sites, most abortions are scheduled only as a last resort.
In short, these people are [still] full of bullshit.
Holy hell.

Selling cheap cosmetics through a supposedly religious site?
How white trash of them.
Now, I'm sure these add up to more than 100 because they were allowed to choose multiple reasons.
And yeah babies are inconvenient if you're poor.
http://www.johnstonsarchive.net/policy/abortion/abreasons.html
rape or incest (0.4%-1.3%)
mother has health problems (2.8%)
possible fetal health problems (3.3%)
unready for responsibility 21%
is too immature or young to have child 11%
woman's parents want her to have abortion <0.5%
has problems with relationship or wants to avoid single parenthood 12%
husband or partner wants her to have abortion 1%
has all the children she wanted or all children are grown (7.9%)
can't afford baby now(21.3%)
concerned about how having baby would change her life 16%
doesn't want others to know she had relations or is pregnant 1%
other 3%
good job, smart one!
Hmmmm.....so randomly reading quotes. Came across this math genius.
No person can be this idiotic right? seeing as 6% ( as stated by fundy) are for rape, incest, fetal abnormality or health of the mother... it is not possible for 95% to be for NONE of those reasons. ( Some should tell them that 95% + 6%= 101%).
Plus the fact that all of those percentages equal over 200%.
Sigh
Here in the normal world we usually only count to 100 percent. But the four last reasons intertwine to some degree.
But first things first (or in this case second), children are not aborted, that would be infanticide. Fetuses are aborted, most before they are more than a lump of cells, and almost everyone before you can discern the human fetus from a pig fetus or mouse fetus or giraf fetus.
Confused?
