“Why are most people so ridiculously susceptible to sexual taboos?”
Most people are not sociopaths, so a widely held opinion in our culture can have a tremendous impact. I mean, we don’t just SAY you shouldn’t, for example, fuck minors, we make a big deal about denigrating and demonizing anyone caught doing that or stating a desire to do that. It’s a constant and oft-repeated message that goes straight to our need to fit in, not be ostracized by the tribe.
It’s seldom the subject of humor, and the treatment in song, story, movie, are all that there’s a special level of hell JUST for people who do this.
“And how come I am one of the few largely immune to this brainwashing,”
I would say there’s something very wrong with you, something basic. If you’re truly IMMUNE to the scorn of the entire culture, you’re a sociopath at the LEAST.
Or maybe your parents raised you as a social experiment to see how monstrous they could push it.
"without even being a sexual deviant myself?”
Um… The only way you’d know you’re immune to taboos is that your sexuality is in one of those channels, no?
I mean, I don’t want to fuck a minor, i’ve never had to decide NOT to fuck a minor, i don’t spend a lot of time trying to understand why that taboo doesn’t affect me.
For a while after i read Gaea, i wanted to date a centaur, but most of my time was spent trying to figure if the bestiality taboo APPLIED to someone capable of informed consent.
"These are questions that only occur to MRAs.”
This is not really something to be proud of. Your make-up is counter to a few zillion years of evolution. It’s not a survival trait.
