Predatory nature isn't a bad thing, but the Bible clearly states that it didn't exist in the garden of eden. Could it have existed at that time, just outside the garden? Perhaps. The rules were changed, so that it is no longer an issue, but yes, in the beginning, T-rex's ate plants.
