Why are atheists, non believers, whoever such hypocrites?
Ive found ALOT of atheists and agnostict people on here to be the biggest, most ignornant hypocrites. I just read a question "What do christians think about the end of the world?" and someone posted "thats the thing, christians dont think". That is the biggest hypocritical statement I've ever read. First off, religion involves very little thinking and a whole lot of faith. In my opinion, atheists and non-believers are scared, scared of whats to come. So they play it off with sarcastic answers and try to cover up their inner feelings. There is no one on this earth that fears nothing and majority of normal people fear the unknown. So I would just like an answer to why do atheists play this little game of "I can't believe what I dont see"....because thats a hypocrite statement too. So you mean to tell me, anything you cant see you dont believe? So how do you beileve that every soda you ever drank was perfectely fine for your health...you weren't there to see it tested before it was bottled?

Hoisted on his own petard!
"First off, religion involves very little thinking and a whole lot of faith"
Kinda sums everything up, doesn't it?
You say "thats the thing, christians dont think" is hypocritical, yet go on to explain that religion doesn't require thinking. Make up your mind! To agree with Allegory for Jesus, why believe in something that has absolutely no proof?

I'm not sure you have a total grasp of what words mean.
To Patches
I was going to say that
I have never met a hypocritical atheist or agnostic. Seriously, not ever. Not even a hypocritical Jew.
I've met lots of hypocritical Christians and Muslims, however.
I don't think you know what a hypocrite is, do you.
1 : a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2 : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings
So how are the statements you mention hypocritical?
"So how do you beileve that every soda you ever drank was perfectely fine for your health...you weren't there to see it tested before it was bottled?"
I don't. And I've gotten a clump of hair in a can of coke once.
But really, I'm pretty confident that what is sold as food where I live meets the safety guidelines set down by the FDA. Am I POSITIVE? No. I'd be stupid to be positive if I wasn't around at every step. But I'm confident enough that the risk is pretty low to go ahead and take that chance.

You realize, of course, that you've just inadvertently validated the poster's opinion. You're not too bright, are you?
"So you mean to tell me, anything you cant see you dont believe?"
No. I don't believe in things that are unevidenced.
"So how do you beileve that every soda you ever drank was perfectely fine for your health...you weren't there to see it tested before it was bottled?"
The formula was tested. The ingredients were tested. The manufacturing process was tested. The final product was tested. Just because my individual can wasn't tested doesn't mean much when every step of the process and every ingredient (and even the refining process for each ingredient) was scrutinized. It's still possible to get a bad can but it's unlikely.
It's called gathering data. Do such for your deity and I'll have a look, otherwise piss off.
The argument is that the poster can't imagine that we genuinely don't believe in or fear the wrath of their god. So every time we explain that we don't believe in their god, or don't fear the wrath of their god, that we must be lying.
It's a stupid and downright insulting argument, but it does have an internal logic to it of sorts.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *cough splutter wheeze* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!
Firstly, soda is bad for your health. Secondly, you don't know what hypocritical means apparently. And lastly you made your opponents point by saying "religion involves very little thinking and a whole lot of faith."
On second thought, could this be a poe?
I'm not a hypocrite, you just think I'm wrong and that I know it.
I do believe in things I can't see like China, the particles in the LHC, and memristors.
But the fact remains that I don't worship them and I don't base my life around.
I don't assume that I need to worship subatomic particles so that I can go to China when I die.
Ooh kay,
First, the unkind joke about Christians not thinking, it is of course an over-generalisation, but you pointed out the reason for it yourself when you said you employ less thinking and more belief. Foe a thinking rationalist it's the other way about and that's why the more cynical ones find you laughable.
As to "afraid of whats to come". No. That would be like a grownup being scared that the Bogey man will get him if he don't watch out. You can't be scared of what you don't believe in. Atheists don't believe in the day of judgment so they don't fear being judged. Anti-racists don't think that the neo-nazis Victory Day is coming so they don't fear being executed for racial treason and so on. Environmentally aware people of all beliefs are rationally concerned by things like climate change and the ozone hole, but that's a whole different matter.
Fundie and cannot understand the meaning of the word "hypocrisy." Brilliant!
LOVE the Princess Bride quote, Patches. And "aaa", as an intelligent person from Suburbia, I resent that!
I fear religion for totally different reasons than they think, such as extremist fundamentalists going around killing "sinners" and non-believers.
There is a mass murderer killing for fun and then there ios a mass murderer killing for their god. The latter is scarier
I guess being hypocrites comes from us being 'ignornant', whatever the fuck that is. C'mon, the 'n' is nowhere near the 'r' or the 'a', that ain't no typo. Yer jus an ignornant fundie what cant spel nuthin.
Because believing in an Omnipresent God because some book was produced saying such is exactly the same as trusting your soda's not some poison.
That's all ya got? Might as well use the "can't see air" argument.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
