[Replying to a post that pointed to the fact that paintings on cave walls predate monotheism.]
Cavemen (and women) were people who left home to dwell in communes. They were the "hippies" of their time.

Well, they had long hair, didn't wash, didn't work in the traditional (or modern depending on which side of the timeline you are on) sense and they were about as understandable as hippies who are stoned of their asses so they might have been hippies.
Thanks Assclown, you made me laugh so hard that beer came out my nose. And you owe me a new keyboard.
Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you? Did you think the Flintstones was an old reality tv show?
At the time, circa 10,000 to 6,000 years ago, they were the only people
I saw Ringo Starr in a caveman movie once, and Ringo is kind of almost like a hippie, sort of, so yeah, this makes sense.
"Og hit weed-spot, but now, how Og light joint? Last time, Og burned down tree house, now have live in cave."

Them goldarn hippies was always marching and carrying signs protesting our mammoth hunts. Shoulda clubbed 'em, that's what we shoulda done. But dangitall if them police didn't protect 'em, mutterin' stuff about free speech and all that commie stuff. Screw 'em! I says we go down to them there caves and drag 'em out by their scruffy hair and put the whole dang lot into the army, straighten 'em out real good.
Yeah, that's a brilliant piece Tempus... think I saw that maybe 10 years ago? Never fails to produce coffee-through-nose snorting laughter.
(But show that to a fundie, and they would just scratch their heads and say, "Isn't this just evidence of the severe bias of scientists have in promoting their own agenda? Shouldn't this kind of discovery be given equal consideration? Shouldn't we teach the "Clothes-Line Controversy"?)
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
