[light from stars millions of light years away proves the bible wrong i.e the world is older than 10,000 years]
Strictly speaking, this argument merely proves the universe as a whole is millions of years old, not necessarily the planet earth. However, since the creationists assert that god created everything, it does debunk their crap, even if it doesn't directly support an old earth.
Light year is a measure of distance and not an "abolute" measurement of time and in now way proves the Bible wrong.
Partially correct, the light year is a measurement of distance and not time. Specifically, it's a measure of how far light can travel in a year. Thus, light from stars millions of light years away must, by definition, have been travelling for millions of years, and thus those stars must have existed millions of years ago to originate them. How you could possibly fail to understand this after demonstrating that you do know what a light year is is beyond me, unless you just read about the distance part and never bothered to actually think about what the name the unit is given is actually saying.
The best cosmology based upon Einstein physics actually shows the universe to be very young (less than 10,000 years). The preponderece of scientific evidence understood in the most straight forward (obvious) way fits much better into a young universe model.
I'm disappointed - after the attempt at some semblance of scientific reasoning in your first sentence, you're just not trying any more. The remainder of your post is utter, bare-faced bullshit.
