Uh dude, the east coast keeps voting Liberal because of either attitudes like "me grand pappy voted Liberal, me daddy voted Liberal, and I vote Liberal" and "Conservative times are hard times."
In other words, for the most part, the east coast keeps voting to keep those who victimize them in power.

Nothing would please the rest of Canada more than for the maritimes to find offshore oil! Then we'd FINALLY have to stop paying people to sit on their asses! Overfishing, under-the-table, do enough for EI then quit, all the time bemoaning the young for heading west to make something of themselves.
Seriously, we LOVE for you to re-obtain your fiscal independence like you had during the coal years.
