Phelps is a Democrat. He was an acquaintance of both Clinton and Gore; and he ran for office as a Dem.
Before he was the 'God Hates Fags' guy, he was a civil rights lawyer. His daughter, the much-maligned Shirley Phelps Roper, is also a civil rights lawyer - and presumably a Democrat like her old man.
Considering what the Conservatives have done to the United States, spilling blood, burning money, and squandering global good will, the posters at Conservapedia should pull the plank from their own ass before going after the sliver in someone else's.

Trying to call the homophobic ultra-conservative super-fundamentalist Christians liberal simply because they say "God hates America", when they are only saying to condemn the so-called immorality of the country, not its policies. Hatred of America is a Muslim thing. And not all Muslims either, only the ones living in countries bombed by the US. Oh, wait, that is quite a few of them...
I think some 90 % of the liberals love America. And very few disrespects the American troops, as far as I understand it. It's the war they do not want, but that has nothing to do with the troops. I detest war, but I still think that the men and women in the troops should be treated well. They are not the ones who started the war, they are only doing their job.
