Let's face it - sexual perversion is a Canadian virtue - and Canada is no longer a free country - with no freedom of religion, freedom of association or freedom of speech. It's a liberal sodomitic secular tyranny.

Say WHAT?

(Say WHAT?)^2
"Let's face it-murder is an American virtue, and America is no longer a free country- with no freedom from religion, freedom of association, or freedom of speech. It's a conservative hateful religious tyranny"
Sadly...a touch more accurate than your rant..
"Sexual perversion is a Canadian virtue" - [citation needed]
"Canada is no longer free country - with no freedom of religion, freedom of association or freedom of speech" - I admit, we're rapidly becoming a socialist country but we still have freedom of religion, association and freedom of speech. In fact, the only time I've ever seen our freedom of speech diddled with is when religious extremists scream that they're being persecuted whenever they don't get their own way. for example the crucifiction of Ezra Levant for posting the Mohammed cartoons, the Imam in Ontario saying that his people's rights are being trodden on because Canada won't respect Sharia law (sadly, the Ontario government flirted with the idea of instituting Sharia law in order to appease him)
"It's a liberal sodomitic secular tyranny" - actually, the conservatives are (FINALLY) in power, I'm not sure where sodomy comes into government except when it comes to tax time, our PM is a church going christian (a friend of mine is friends with his wife and went to church with them regularly). Also, not a tyranny (we voted for our government) it just seems that way when you're smarting from having all your money taken away from you (finished paying taxes).
In any case, if you don't like it, go to America, they love christians down there. (My apologies to my American friends, I don't want them polluting us with their mindless drivel)
My imaginary friend thinks you have a mental disorder.
@ Fanatic Templar:
I'll leave the light on, the door unlocked, and a bottle of lube on the nightstand. Just nudge me when you get here, you sodomitic tyrant, you. LOL
Lets all remember that when people need to escape from oppression in the land of the free they come to Canada. Starting with the United Empire Loyalists, continuing with the escaped slaves (because escaping to the non-slave states was not enough). Add to that the victims of MacArthyism, the Viet-Nam draft dodgers ...
Yes, we take our human rights seriously. We allow gay couples to get married, because the only objection to recognizing their rights is religion. And we try not to make religious values the law of the land.
Let me see if I understand this. People can do what they want as long as consenting adults, and that somehow makes no freedom of religion? But in a theocracy, one MUST follow the religion as set by law. And you think a "liberal sodomistic secular tyranny" is just that? It can be liberal and secular. But it is far better than a theocracy.
Last I heard, sodomy- as you interpret it- was invented in Greece. Unless a Canadian tourist turned up around 700BC and gave them some pointers.
The only famous sexual pervert I can think of is Marquis de Sade, and he wasn't Canadian. But he was French... and Canada has a sizeable French speaking population... COINCIDENCE???
Actually the Conservatives are currently in power. I'm hoping that the next election will put the liberals back in (If they get rid of Dion that is).
As far as us being sexual perverts ~ well it's always the quiet ones, isn't it image
Yup. This is bullshit. I live in Canada. My website contains all kinds of intolerance, and the only organizations that ever had a problem with it mostly listing sites which shall remain nameless, because they actually corrected things when I sent out polite e-mails are based in the US.
I even address hate speech legislation on the site, and the gub'ment has never come knocking on my door. Hell, even my ISP has never complained.
Let's face it - sexual perversion is a Canadian virtue
Oh, you've been to Montreal? :p
...and Canada is no longer a free country...
How do you reconcile this with your previous statement?
...with no freedom of religion...
Yeah, everywhere I go, I see burnt out churches...cryin' shame, it is...
...freedom of association...
Seriously, have you even been here?
...freedom of speech.
We do...but we're not afraid of calling a person down for rabid bigotry also.
It's a liberal sodomitic secular tyranny.
Yeah, yeah, yeah...
I visited Canada a couple of years back and I never got the impression that they were going to sodomise me or be in any way tyrannical. I'd go back tomorrow if I could, its a lovely place and the people I met there were all very friendly. Mind you, Brad Roberts from the Crash Test Dummies has a very deep voice, does that mean he might be the debbil? And they get syrup from trees..... how ungodly!
Yeah, us Canadians. Big ol' perverts.
He figured us out, guys, he knows. Time to fess up; we all wear black leather under our winter parkas.
You caught us, fundie. You figured it all out.
1. I don't see a lot of sexual perversion around my Ontario town. If you're refering to the fact we allow same-sex marriage (and you probably are) what's wrong with allowing that?
2. We are a free country. We always have been.
3. We have freedom of religion. The Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Budhists, pagans, and athiests all around our schools and towns are proof enough of that.
4. We have freedom of association. Don't you know anything?
5. We have freedom of speech. It's this freedom of speech that is allowing me to type this right now.
6. Yes, we're liberal. Conservatives are in power right now, but mostly, it's the liberals. That's a good thing.
You fail at Canada.
What?
I live in Canada and besides Bill C-36 (anti-terrorism), we're much more free than your precious USA with its Patriot Act.
Oh, and I thought that liberalism was more free than conservatism, which is grounded in pointless idiocy?
Wow. What? I'll give you the socialist/liberal thing, even our Conservative party isn't that conservative...
And just because we actually DO keep our churches and government separate doesn't mean we don't have freedom of religion, in fact the opposite. I neither know nor care about the religion of any Prime Minister; past, present, or future.
"Blame Canada.... blame Canada...
With all their hockey hullabaloo
and that bitch Anne Murray too..."
It's OneNewsNow, therefore it fails!
Others have likely said it but we are, um, run by Stephen Harper of the the Conservative party. The tyranny part may now be correct (sodomitic not so much; ditto not liberal at least in terms of govt ideology).
As for the origin of these comments, a provincially funded agency does not get to violate the Charter of Rights if it accepts that money (oddly relgious folk can violate the Charter - which is the real tragedy here)
Damn evil Canadians!
Except not.
<<Falls down laughing in Canada.>>
Yes. Yes it's true, we Canadians are all sexual perverts. We are also absolutely required to know how to make love in a canoe before being permitted to vote.
@Bee
Making love in a canoe is a requirement for Canadian citizenship, and do you know what it and American beer have in common?
They're both fucking near water.
Huh? What is this drivel? Canada seems more free than the US, at least looking form outside.
As far as I know they have not outlawed any religions, nor freedom of speech or association.
Secular basically means that all religions are welcome, as long as they don't try to impose on public life.
A liberal tyranny sounds like an oxymoron.
Canada sounds kind of fun. Except for the tyranny thing. However, I believe the things I read in news pages (and what Mr Moore says in Bowling for Columbine) more than I believe "Anonymous Commenter, any day.
Last time I checked liberal meant freedom, sort of.
And there I did it again, commented twice on the same thread. S-sorry. Better be off to bed now, it's almost eleven pm here.
"Let's face it-beer is German virtue, and Germany is no longer a free country- with no freedom from religion, freedom of association, or freedom of speech. It's a conservative hateful religious tyranny"
>Fanatic-Templar
>And soon, we will be coming for you!
Oh you're getting sent to the Nunavut work camps for that one!
sexual perversion is a Canadian virtue
As it would happen, I am about five blocks from the Canadian Embassy in Washington.
I am going to head down there post-haste and check into immigrating there.
Aaaaaaah-hahahahahahahahaaaaaa ....
<wheeze>
Oh man, that's a good one.
Then again ... hmmm ... Gays can get married to eah other, ditto lesbians; women can go topless if they feel like it; the playground at my son's school shows a veritable spectrum of shades of hair and skin with a sprinkling of head scarves and turbans; we do pretty well on the UN scale of human rights and standard of living; and our math and science education curricula are generally pretty decent.
No wonder fundies see that as "tyranny" ... nobody is paying any attention to them and their whining. As far as I can tell from a brief survey of my neighbours, nobody gives a fart in a high wind what flavour of religion anyone else believes in.
*Sigh!*
Look, there's no shame in admitting that you don't know where Canada is. Just ask, or better yet, Google it.
For the record, Canada is the big, cold country way north of the US. The place you're thinking of is called Iran. Not even close, neither geographically, nor culturally.
I live in Toronto, give me Canada over the USA any day.
Hey, I'm a poet and didn't know it.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
