I can certainly understand their frustration that our nation bows to the sins of abortion, adultery and homosexuality, to the exclusion of obedience to God. The simple formula is that God blesses obedience and punishes disobedience.
It’s the protesting at military funerals that has been wrongheaded and downright counterproductive. They should’ve confined their protests to homosexuals’ funerals. With AIDS and all the cancers they contract because of their deathstyle, there shouldn’t be any shortage of them.

AIDS is not and has never been a homosexual disease. It is most common in southern and eastern Africa. In most countries there, a notable exception being South Africa, t3h gh3y is illegal. Even in South Africa there is "corrective rape."

And here's the weird thing: Canada has had completely legal abortions since 1988, completely legal same-sex marriage since 2005, and could legally give a shit about adultery. And they came through the recent financial blow-out that almost destroyed our economy relatively OK. So what is it? Does gob love Canadians more than us?

Yes, obey like the good little dog you are. And when your master kicks you and then yells at you when you look up at him with your sad puppy eyes (a la Job), make sure to be extra obedient to him. Oh, and even though he's your master, don't expect him to feed you take care of you when you're sick, or really even allow you to have a normal life. He has unlimited power and complete dominance over you but if you dare suggest his power gives him any responsibility he'll straight up fucking torture you. No, you're the only one that has any responsibility: to be his loyal pet no matter how much he beats you and starves you.
I'd say that God is judging your nation because of your descent into depravity of not helping the poor. Jesus said time and time again, according to the Bible, that the most important thing was to Love Thy Neighbor, to help your fellow humans in need.

What is the point of God's "judging our nation" when the "punishment" is randomly distributed to believers and unbelievers alike and we're never told exactly what it's for? We punish wrongdoers with jails and fines, not by playing nasty little secret pranks on them and anyone else who happens to be standing near them. afsnco makes God out to be a petty, vindictive moron.
Is there a Gay-owned mortuary out there? I think it would be fun to insure that Fred winds up cremated, and his ashes wind up in the famous sewers of Istambul. That way, he can spend whatever time is left to that infrastructure being shat upon by Muslims.

Ok then explain African countries where being homosexual is a criminal offense, death penalty. AIDS is a major problem in many of them, and many are third world nations. God could be judging them. Which means He is for human rights and against homophobia. Or we humans are greater. Or he is not real. Or there are gods and he may or may not be one, and they disagree. While you ponder that ponder this:European countries where gay marriage is legal are doing very well.

But seriously, you're right- our gays can marry anywhere in the country, we declared abortions flat-out legal (we still get protesters outside hospitals, but they're made to stay at the entrance of the parking lot so that people can safely ignore them as they drive past), and adultery is only given legal consideration in divorce proceedings. So when we hear the Bible Bunch sound off about God punishing people for these 'sins'... we just roll our eyes, take another sip of Tim Horton's and laugh our collective balls off.
You do realize that Westboro's protests at gay funerals helped raise public support for gay rights, don't you? Because most people don't like open displays of hatred by bigots.
Go ahead and protest at the funerals of people who die of AIDS and cancer, if you want to be despised by the American public. Everybody hated Phelps. They'll hate you, too.
I've never heard of getting cancer from gay sex. I racked my brain trying to think of a plausible scenario that these two things could be linked. Here's what I came up with.
Johnny is gay. Very gay. Loves thinking about gay sex all the time. But poor Johnny grew up in a christian fundamentalist household. So his natural inclinations needed to be repressed. Over time, this repression gave him a cancerous brain tumor.
There. I have successfully linked those two concepts for you in perhaps the only logical way they can be connected.

IIRC, some time ago we had a quote of a fundie who claimed that sperm up the ass would bind with the intestinal wall and cause colon cancer. I shit you not.
On a slightly less insane note, I remember reading speculations that HPV could be one of the causes of mouth/throat cancer among non-(tobacco-)smokers.
Of course, if this is where he is coming from the OP fails to understand that in absolute numbers this would put at risk a lot more straight women than gay men, but what else is new...?
