(Poster discussing explanations of magic tricks videos they posted)
OK.....I know such things can be scary for hardened atheists and materialists .....and many would like to laugh loudly in the dark.
But fact is...no one has managed to explain these 'tricks'....except through rather mundane methods like a hole in the wall, strings, trapdoors, all the people are actors, camera tricks ....etc. Not a single so called 'explanation' available in youtube is meaningful.
Magic is still 'Magic'. You guys must admit you are stumped!

Occam's Razor, have you heard about that?
In lack of better evidence, the simplest explanation is the best, and here, "mundane methods" are the simplest explanation.
"Your explanations of how these tricks are done without magic don't count because they don't involve magic."
It has to be painful to be this stupid. Or if it's not then it should be. I volunteer to help make it so, in fact; can someone lend me an aluminum bat?
Falls right into a recent study that showed, not surprisingly, that those raised religiously are more likely to believe in any supernatural, magical premise.
Unsubstantiated magic claims like trickle down economics or religious people being more honest and trustworthy.
Magic tricks are not the least bit scary for atheists or materialists, as we now that they are, in fact, tricks.
No-one might have managed to explain these tricks, YET. They will be explained, just like all other magic tricks have been. Youtube isn't the fount of knowledge I'd first tap, dearie.
We must only admit you are stupid.
The fact that the explanation for how the trick is accomplished seems "mundane" to you has no bearing on its validity.
Educate yourself by watching some of the numerous videos that show how many of these tricks are actually done. You will see that in virtually all instances the solution to how it is performed is quite mundane indeed. The remaining cases utilize somewhat more technically complex means to achieve the illusion.
But none of them involve the use of actual "magic" (which has never been proven to exist).
Seriously, read a biography of Houdini. He spent his life exposing charlatan "mediums" and exposing how magic was done.
@ Nemo, you beat me to it. In fact, their friendship soon foundered, not over this but over Conan Doyle's wife's claim that she, as a medium, was in contact with Houdini's mother and relaying messages. Among other things, Houdini complained that the messages were in English, noting that his mother spoke six languages but not a word of English.

How are mundane explanations not meaningful?
> Magic is still 'Magic'.
Yes. Everything is exactly like itself.
> You guys must admit you are stumped!
No, we have mundane explanations like a hole in the wall, strings, trap doors, etc.
I think it's the same as what I like to call the "Psychic Hotline Principle."
If I had magic powers, I sure as hell wouldn't use them to entertain strangers in an auditorium or children at a birthday party. There would be more efficient and fun ways of using those powers.
It's like how so many psychics seem to run booths or hotlines instead of predicting which lottery numbers will win and becoming billionaires.

Who da thunk... Right?
If any of this "magic" was real, then they would have claimed the Million dollars from the James Randi foundation years ago. The fact that none of these "magicians" are willing to perform in a controlled environment where trickery would be caught out, speaks volumes.
Harry Houdini - almost revered as a god by the Magic Circle - published books on how tricks were done.
Yet, Penn & Teller were thrown out of the Magic Circle when they revealed how tricks were done, on their TV programmes.
Are you therefore suggesting that those so-called 'Street Magicians' have supernatural powers?!
...yet even with them, there's a materialistic explanation.
For that, and everything else that is so-called 'Magic'. Can you say 'Shills', Srisheep? I know you can.
Even the WWE had to openly admit that all their 'Kayfabe' & the rest of their BS was just fake .
Everything can be explained. You guys are forced to admit there are no more 'Mysteries' left. The 'Gaps' are all but filled . We know everything . [/Higgs-Boson, 11-Dimensional Mathematics]
Stumped? You just gave several explanations all more likely than magic.
Here's a clue, Sparky: The more you have to invoke magic to explain something, the less likely your explanation is to be true.
@Philbert McAdamia
I can't figure it out; it's hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
Nobody can.
Tide goes in, tide goes out. You can't explain it.
Just because a magician stumps an audience doesn't mean it must have been something actually supernatural. The Amazing Randi's $1,000,000 challenge has gone unclaimed for over a decade, and there are many other similar unclaimed prizes available.
@Anon-e-Moose: Um, there's still dark matter to fully decipher. I don't remember anything about the "irrupting universes" claim to be fulling etched in...well, science won't let anything be etched in diamond, but I expect at least beryl.
(And really, we've got to find a way to make you less of a contempt elemental...Did you miss the part about schadenfreude being malicious?)
Next time this bozo is in a library or a bookstore (probably once in a decade), he should look up books on magic. All the little sleight of hand tricks will be revealed. Or better, look up the Amazing Randy or Penn and Teller.
What an incredible boob.
Let's see if I'm grokking this correctly...
A person posts videos explaining how they perform their 'magic' tricks, yet you reject actual physical evidence and accept only a supernatural explanation. In other words, you won't believe reality and dare to think you're intelligent enough to insult those who do.
The disconnect is hilarious.

Will a wooden nailbat do? I also have a jar of extra-hot tabasco sauce. If this twit insists on assaulting our minds with his weapon-grade stupidity, it is only just that he shares the pain...
I'm guessing that when you don't know how something is done then, Wowee Zowee magic Bible Gods rule!!! End of!!!
I'm also guessing that learning and science are somewhat miraculous feats in your estimation.
That's a lot to "guess" from such a short quote, nevertheless you've caused me to "guess" it.
I'm at a loss here.
Surely the joy of a magicians illusion is the implicit fore-knowledge that it is just that, an illusion. Knowing that we, the audience are being duped by the ingenious and well executed application of 'mundane' mechanisms is to me at least, the fun of it. Attempting to unravel its deceit, trying to catch the trick out, to puzzle out the mechanism*, plus an appreciation of its performance, therein lies the fun.
What is stumping me is the fact that you seem to unthinkingly endorse an elaborate fiction of such awful history and effect as the actual explanation of such happy acts of prestidigitation.
Where's the fun in that?

I'm a Wiccan & even I think this OP is an idiot!
"Stage Magic" is not real magick you meathead! That's why they now call them "Illusionists".

Merely pointing out - in that way - how science knows infinitely more than the fundies.
When their own Bible can't get Genesis right, via two contradictory versions, then fundies know less than nothing.
It's all about comparisons .
“Magic is still 'Magic'. You guys must admit you are stumped!”
A number of years ago, a group of magicians decided to go to Tijuana for a day. A friend decided at the last minute not to go. So the others played a trick on him.
They got a bartender to pose with a bunck of rubber bands. They said HE was a magician and one of his tricks was shotting rubber bands and they wuold roll back to him. Showed the pics to their friend who searched Tijuana for this act. that didn’t exist. That couldn’t be done.
So he went home and developed the trick. He can do it. Even explained it to his dumbfouded friends.
Stories like this make a LOT more sense to me than magic.
If magic was real, corporations would have you use it.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
