Isn’t it odd that Russia has now come to America? Not even the Russia of today but the Russia of yesterday has come to America. Isn’t it odd that it would be a street radical from New York, Bernie Sanders, one of the most dangerous men in political history — oh, I know, ‘He’s a simple old man and he’s not dangerous,’ you are wrong. Watch his snaky eyes when he speaks. He’s extremely smart. Bernie is very smart. Bernie is also a streetfighter. Bernie will fight for what he believes in. In that sense, he is a true revolutionary. And if you want to see friends dragged away by the secret police — my friends, you say it can’t happen here, I’m telling you it is happening here.

You say, ‘What are you talking about? That could never happen here, we have a media that would never permit that to happen.’ Well it just happened two weeks ago in Oregon. They shot a man dead in Oregon, the thugs from the federal government — or was it the Oregon state police? — killed a man who was protesting on federal land and no one in the media covered it. You say it can’t happen here, it is happening here. It is happening here, little by little by little. Police are being shot like bowling pins throughout the country by you know who, do I have to spell it out for you?

I am ashamed to say that I was a conservative Republican in the 1990s.

Today I'm a progressive democratic socialist. What a difference twenty years makes. It's hard to believe that there was actually a time when the Republicans DIDN'T all constantly sound like gibbering, brain-injured mental patients desperately screaming so they can be heard over the feral cats endlessly howling in their heads. Twenty years ago, this kind of raving lunacy was mostly confined to a few small-press newsletters that only a handful of schizophrenic shut-ins read, or the darkest corners of a few Usenet groups inhabited primarily by the kind of tinfoil-wearing bottom-feeders who religiously collect Nazi periphernalia and listen to shortwave radio at 3 AM. Anyone actually saying this on an open forum would have been laughed out of the public eye.

And yet, here we are.

I can only look on in terrified awe.

I'd sooner chalk up a murder being barely reported on to the media's obsession with cute young white women over victims of any other gender, ethnicity, or age group than I'd chalk it up to the "secret police" belonging to the political party that's the least likely to have secret police considering they're the ones trying to expand freedom instead of restricting it based on racist and superstitious bullshit.

Not to mention that even if these secret police existed, we can assume that they're actually pretty fucking incompetent at what they supposedly do going by the fact that you heard about that death, which means that someone in the media reported on it anyway despite supposed attempts at covering it up. You know what I'm not seeing media coverage of in any way? That "police are being shot like bowling pins" bullshit. Care to explain yourself, maybe provide proof?

Guy in Ireland here who has been following this story in the MEDIA [/ominous voice].

Just a few quick questions.
Aren't you talking about a man who was part of an armed militia from a completely different state? The leaders of which had previously organised another armed group to frustrate federal authorities from performing their legally-proscribed duties?
Didn't this same group state that they wouldn't leave until all the federally-owned land in the state was handed over to the ranchers or until the people of the area asked them to leave?
Didn't this same group continue to refuse to leave even when the people of the area, including the ranchers they claimed to be representing, told them to GTFO?
And finally, wasn't the guy who was shot provoking the police by constantly yelling at them to shoot him and reaching into his jacket when they told him not to?

Domestically, Bernie isn't that dangerous. Why? Because his plans aren't well-prepared enough that he will achieve anything without Congress having him for breakfast. In terms of foreign policy, the problem isn't so much that Russia has become America - and I thought people like Michael Savage thought Russia was wonderful these days - but that Bernie wants Russia to be part of NATO. There are a few problems with that:

1) Russia doesn't want to be in NATO;
2) NATO's member countries don't want Russia to be in NATO;
3) The reason NATO was established in the first place;
4) As we can see in Syria and Ukraine right now, Russia's ideas about "collective security" may differ from ours.

Killed a man who ran a blockage and is on film twice going for his gun before he was shot, a man that a week earlier had said he'd never be taken alive.

This actually shows another right wing mental problem derived from living in a subculture bubble. The last hold out was whining like a small child about no groups coming to help him just as Savage is suggesting the publics not outraged because it's not being covered. Both living under the delusion most Americans think like them and would rather see a bunch of ranchers or mommas boys with guns run the country then the system that is.

From this side of the Atlantic, Bernie Sanders looks like a center liberal.
The rest of your politicians look like ultra-right-wing conservatives or borderline-fascists.

Sure, he's dangerous, to the top 0,1 percent of the population; they will no longer be able to steal money from the poor and hoard it (if he's able to do what he aims to do). Are you a member of the top 0,1 percent? If not, then Bernie is the man you ought to vote for; all the other politicians are bought by the ultra-rich.

Bernie's also 74 years old. If you're afraid of fighting him, you're one pathetic weakling.

I'd say the risk of "friends being dragged away by the secret police" would be much higher with Trump or Cruz.

You have a media that is owned and controlled by ultra-rich right-wing people. You ought to wonder more about what you are not informed about regarding the lives of the middle- and lower classes.

Black kids are being shot all the time, for walking while black, or holding their hands in the air while black; dangerous things like that. Are you talking about one of the thugs who occupied federal property, and more or less wanted to be shot? Someone must have covered it, or none of us would have known about it.
