Okay, this one ticked me off. It contains so many falsehoods that I am actually angry, not just annoyed. The fact that all conservatives seem to be opposed to public schools in general scares me. It genuinely scares me. Surely they must know that all the First World countries, and only the First World countries, have mandatory schooling (public or not) for all children? Since they know that only the richest parents can afford to send their children to private schools, if they got their way they would destroy any chance at prosperity this country has. Also, I don't think that the topic of homosexuality is broached much in public schools. I certainly never heard teachers mention it at any rate. (And yes, I was in school after Massachusetts legalized gay marriage, thus starting the fundie obsession with "teh ghey" in the first place.)
In addition to being a virulent anti-intellectual fundamentalist homophobe, Mr. Rooks has also outed himself as a racist. Does he seriously think that only black students are bullies? We all know that conservatives WANT people to die, but to deny that there even is such thing as bullying goes beyond ordinary social conservatism and straight into the reactionary beliefs of the infamous Proph. (I think we might have just found Proph's true identity, guys.)
Prove that Satan exists, and then we'll discuss whether gay-straight alliances (I assume that's what he means), "Marxist" clubs (which don't exist, but I guess he's talking about the Young Democrats or something since conservatives are incapable of distinguishing liberal progressivism from Marxist communism) or "Anti-Christian" clubs (what the hell are those?) are Satanic. Not to mention that the only institutes of learning that host things even remotely similar are colleges, not grade schools.
He's right that there is no learning going on, that test scores are lower than they have ever been and that children are indoctrinated to be stupid, but he loses any points I may have given him for blaming it on the liberals. Bush's educational policies (*cough*NOCHILDLEFTBEHIND*cough*) have done more to ruin this country's education system than any other piece of legislation before or since. I'm lucky that much of my schooling happened before it went into effect. Unfortunately, anyone who even thinks of fixing the broken system these days loses all their support, so this country is doomed and there is nothing anyone can do about it. I hate you, conservatives.
Last, I'm pretty sure that any time a fundie claims that public schools teach schoolchildren how to be more promiscuous than porn stars or something of the sort, they're lying. It's a PRATT, anyway.
In other words, sending your kid to learn about the world from people like William Rooks is one of the worst abuses of children I can imagine, in my opinion.
