even today the world is over 70% covered with water, most remaining inhabitable land is within 100 feet of sea level
And none of that is proof or evidence of a worldwide flood.
and limestone deposits from water are found at all heights
If, as you claim, the biblical story of the flood irrefutable fact, how is it that these limestone deposits were laid down in less than a year? What makes your assertion true when all geological observation is contrary to your claim?
Local, but massive, flooding occurs frequently and widely, with devastating affects.
LOCAL flooding. There is nothing about any localized flooding that would so much as suggest that a worldwide flood, submerging all dry land, is even possible, much less plausible.
All knowledge of geology and weather patterns attests to the impossibility of such an occurence. There is not sufficient subsurface water deposits to cover all land masses, nor is there a way to force them all to the surface simultaneously. Moreover, the event you describe would have required a world spanning weather system. Such weather systems have never been observed and are quite likely impossible.
If you want to assert the supernatural intervention of your deity that's fine, but don't also assert that science backs up that claim.
The theory of evolution does not have a more plausible explanation for how species survive this in the long run.
You are essentially saying "Because evolutionary theory does not currently have an explanation for Hypothetical Event X, therefore Hypothetical Event X not only happened, but it also disproves evolutionary theory as well.".
Evolutionary theory does not, and was never intended to, formulate an explanation as to how life survived extinction level events, esspecially when there is not evidence whatsoever for the supposed event in the first place.
No matter how you try to twist the framing of this issue it is simply not under the purview of evolutionary theory and therefore creates no conflict. The assertion of a global flood in relativly recent geological history is addressed by the fields of geology, hydrology, and meteorology, not evolutionary biology.
Further more, your inclusion of evolutionary theory in this matter is nothing less than a half-assed attempt discredit evolution by asserting that it can't explain something that it has nothing to do with. It was Lying for Jesus when Kent Hovind tried it, and it's Lying for Jesus now.
