Actually, I think music keeps me focused sometimes.
I know there are people who don't like music, or can't listen to it when they're doing something, but that isn't everybody. Feel free to do these things your own way, but don't assume everyone should be the same.

I will take as much of the latter as possible.
Listening to music provides mental stimulation and makes tedious tasks easier to bear. It elevates your mood when you're depressed, calms you when you're angry, and makes you happy just because.
You take music from us and you might as well rob our very humanity. Frankly that says some scary shit about you.

Music is the expression of the soul! It is an art for the ears! Every culture has music! Every one of them! Heck, music is a huge [part of religion, with their hymns and stuff! Besides, music takes a lot of time and dedication in order to learn, much less perfect it as a craft! To say that it's a pointless distraction for lazy people is just... completely and totally wrong!
Maybe I ought to show this one on the forum I go to. There's at least two musicians I know there who'd be able to tear this ass five new ones far more effectively than I could.
Though, the idea that music is for people who don't like to think is hilarious, given how hard fundies tend to go against any music not specifically created for them... and even then if it has any sort of beat or is interesting to listen to they still hate it.
