The problem is that the Myth of Darwin is being taught and bought as scientific fact when it is not.
The belief in Evolutionary Theory as an explanation for life as we observe it (religious dogma) despite the lack of evidence to prove it scientifically has resulted in terrible fruits, not only in government schools - rampant cheating, sex and abortion; drop-outs, stabbings, Columbine - but throughout the world - Hitler's genocide, Communistic-utopian tyrannies, the murder by starvation/dehydration of Terri Schiavo...the list is endless, but the faith-reasoning that is at the root of these things is the same: "From the goo through the zoo to you."

it's also funny how 'free republic' is named so as it is really against freedom at all. if they don't like it, nobody should have it. basically, they are huge hypocrites and just pure retarded rednecks
Plenty of fundies who don't believe in evolution are involved in cheating, sex and abortion, drop-outs, stabbings, terrorism, etc. In fact, jails contain a higher proportion of religious people than non-religious. Also, the crime rates in countries where evolution is accepted by most people are far lower than in the US, where more people don't accept it.
Actually, a better argument could be made that religion is responsible for the problems he mentions.

I think you'll find that teachers playing favorites and schools allowing bullying and treating some kids better makes things like Columbine happen.
And you'll also find that the Government not helping schools in poor areas leads to those other behaviors.
And about "rampant cheating" - rich, white kids in upper-middle class / lower-upper class suburbs and school systems do the most cheating. I know as that is the environment I grew up in.
Just two premises. One, the theory has been largely demonstrated scientifically. Because scientific means that if you find fossiles and DNA that match with the theory, the theory formulated after observation, that is scientific. If you take a religious book written by nomads who couldn´t ever imagine what science is like and then you select the loopholes that demonstrate the myth, that is not scientific. Second, nothing of the things you have mentioned are related to Darwinism. Killing spree exists since the world is world, specially in wars, and Marx wrote his communist manifesto in 1848, when Darwin was not even experiencing.
Wow, the world before evolutionary theory must have been fabulous. No one cheated at anything, or stabbed anyone else, or had sex! This damned sexual reproduction! Damn you, science!
Evolution caused the holocaust? Now that's a new one on me. But never mind that. This guy is claiming that teaching evolution in schools is what makes kids cheat in class.
THAT IS THE BIGGEST FUCKING LOAD OF BULLSHIT I HAVE EVER HEARD.
Yes, even bigger than evolution causing the holocaust. Seriously, fuck you, .30carbine.
Hitler was a Young Earth Creationist. Stalin believed in Lamarckian evolution, not Darwinian evolution.
So, fail.
Also, he deserves to die for quoting that piece of shit Hovind.
This post needs to be rated a 5 at least five times over because of the multiple layers of lies, errors, illogic, and rampant insanity it contains.

"rampant cheating, sex and abortion, drop-outs, stabbings" ...
There was a party, and I wasn't invited? I'm pissed!
Wait, what? Evolution made the Columbine massacre happen? WTF?!
Yep, Answers in Genesis claims that too; apparently those guys wore shirts that said "Natural Selection" on them, or something... meh
Crusades. WTC. Inquisition. I could go on. I think religion far exceeds the kill count of the ToE.
On a per capita basis, certainly.
it scientifically has resulted in terrible fruits, not only in government schools - rampant cheating, sex and abortion; drop-outs, stabbings, Columbine - but throughout the world - Hitler's genocide, Communistic-utopian tyrannies, the murder by starvation/dehydration of Terri Schiavo..
But worst of all...
It leads to DANCING .
Non-sequitur king!! Can we give him that award?
Here my favourite one: "Communistic-utopian tyrannies" So now "utopian" is a negative element? I mean, I know they deem communism to be negative, from the center left I dispise it too but... to have something "Utopian" as bad? This guy certainly never read Thomas Moore's work... Probably he hasn't read anything besides the bible either!!!!!
EDIT: ---I don't think so - he's clearly using "utopian" in the sense of "striving for utopia" rather than "being an utopia".---
Not really... he is not saying "utopic communist governments" he is saying "communistic-utopian tyrannies", in there "utopian" and "tyrannies" are oxymorons and "communistic" descibres "utopian", "utopic" is "striving for Utopia", "utopian" is "being in/of Utopia".
The belief in Evolutionary Theory as an explanation for life as we observe it (religious dogma) despite the lack of evidence to prove it scientifically...
Lack of evidence? Since when?
...has resulted in terrible fruits, not only in government schools - rampant cheating, sex and abortion; drop-outs, stabbings, Columbine - but throughout the world - Hitler's genocide, Communistic-utopian tyrannies, the murder by starvation/dehydration of Terri Schiavo...
Wait, explain to me how ANY of that is caused by the teaching of evolution? (And didn't Hitler use God as justification for his actions?)
the list is endless, but the faith-reasoning that is at the root of these things is the same: "From the goo through the zoo to you."
That's a bit (read: extremely) simplistic. Not as bad as "God sez so lawlz," though.
What does evolution has do to with genocide? or rampant cheating, sex and abortion; drop-outs, stabbings, Columbine and Virginia Tech I guess.....
Yes, evolution caused all those things, and more in fact evolution has caused all the bad things in human history.
But since it has given us all the good things too, maybe we don't need to give it moral implications.
Clearly things like social isolation, religious fanaticism, the want of a better life gone about the wrong way, environmental problems, social images, and the abundance of weapons has nothing to do with any of those things what so ever, nope.
Just me or did logic take a belt of flak to the frame and spin into the Atlantic for .30carbine?
well, @ Matilde on the first page, i have to correct you about marx and darwin not being contemporaries. marx was born in 1818 and died in 1883, whereas darwin was born in 1809 and died in 1882. neither one recanted on the deathbed, and thank atheos for that. but anyway, im not sure if it is merely anecdotal, but supposedly marx wanted to dedicate his manifesto to darwin, but darwin declined, saying he had enough controversy with his own ideas. also, this .30carbine is, as we can all agree, an idiot.
edit: darwins last words were to his wife and cousin emma, "Remember what a good wife you have been." NOT "I recant my ideas and accept Christ as my savior."
I can't really comment for sure about cheating, but godless European countries have lower rates of murder, teen pregnancy, teen STD and teen abortion than the godly USA.
Evolution is a thing that happens. Sex is one of the best methods of passing along one's genetic information to the next generation. It's the reason that you look different from your parents, and they looked different from your grandparents, etc.

Murder, genocide, cheating and stabbing are way over here. They're caused by bad people, some of whom are deeply religious and some of whom pretend to be. These things have not a ding-dong thing to do with evolution.
Confused?
