I couldn't agree more with you. Religions like Christianity or Evolutionism do not follow the scientific method. I don't think they should be taught in science class. I'm glad we are agreeing on some level now :)
And Inversion, you are right that there hasn't been much new info since the beginning of this thread. I think a lot of people skipped over it to make their claims which have already been discussed and I certainly know that most if not all my posts now are just repeating itself. It is a tricky debate and it does run around in circles a bit.

Evolution isn't a religion, never has been, never will be. It is a scientific theory. It requires a hypothesis and testing, results are recorded.
Christianity is a religion, it requires no proof or substance, but various sects and factions of it is blindly followed.
Thus, once again, ends the lesson in definitions.
Too bad anyone agrees with you Watertarg, you are a blowhard who appears to not even know the definitions of science, religion, evolutionism(is there even such a word?) and scientific method. How could you possibly debate anyone sensibly on these subjects?
Along with Evolutionism, here are some other religions that are being taught in school:
Physism, Chemism, Mathematicism, Englism, and so forth...
Love the uncited assertion that the basis of modern biology, and one of the most important theories in science, "does not follow the scientific method". I mean, thats a big call to make, and to simply throw it out there without even an attempt at a logical rationalisation, let alone actual evidence, is about as far away from the scientific method as one can get. It is clear from that fact alone that this person has no grasp of what the scientific method actually is, never mind the ability to recognise what constitutes a scientific theory and what does not. This is why inteligent design is able to suck so many people in.

Christianity might not, since it's a religion, but evolution does. Which means that, no matter what religious fundamentalists think, it can change and is not an irreversible, sacred unchanging dogma.
Religion, on the other hand...well, it can change, but usually people have to die first.

My great-great-great-<insert about 10,000 "greats">-grandparents were the first examples of Modern Man, Homo sapiens , the first species on the planet to have imaginations, able to think and dream of things that could be, instead of just what is and has been. Their and our species is responsible for everything from mastery of fire and exploring the continents to splitting the atom and venturing into outer space.
That's an amazing family history of progress that every person on the planet shares (and that's just three of the major steps, there are dozens of intermediate and dead-end branch species that made major contributions). Why are fundies acting like it is an insult to be distantly descended from them? Why do they act like it didn't happen in the face of literal mountains of evidence? Is it not more noble and impressive to think that all of our current accomplishments can be traced back to a primitive species like that, than to imagine that we are just the effortless result of the whim of an irrational and clearly psychotic deity? Clearly these people are so depressed, delusional, and have such extremely low self esteem to think that we and our ancestors are somehow not worthy of due credit and that they have to escape into fairy tales.
