What if we humans were created, not by God/intelligent design or evolution, but some kind of alien species that existed long ago ( and maybe they still exist, but they're hiding from us or something like that )? Maybe we were created by the 'aliens', like robots... 'Meat robots'.
'Programmed' to have emotions and 'survive and reproduce'. Some of us humans are 'programmed' with an ability to see spirits/ghosts and communicate with things in an 'afterlife'.

Some of us are probably 'programmed' to have NDEs regardless of being an atheist/materialist, and some aren't.
And maybe the 'aliens' implanted something in our brains to experience a 'past life' or a 'false memory', like a brain chip.
Just a weird thought floating around in my head.
