Anyone who uses their intellect and power to rid society of God (like Steve Gey did) they only do so because God has rejected them. The Bible explains Atheists as persons who have been rejected by God, much like the iconic aging movie star, ready for her close-up, completely unaware that the Studio (God) has abandoned them (and not the other way around).

Ray Martinez, the idiot who thinks he can speak for God - assuming there is one. If, however, there is, then Ray is a prime blasphemer.

"I love you all people.Except dem queers, fags, dykes, atheists, libruls, environmentalists, moslems, Mexicans, immigrants, coloreds (except blacks, some of my best friends are black of course), commies, soshulist Democrats and broads who can't afford to care for a child."

Are you admitting atheists exist after all?
OK then, if God rejected me, then how is it fair that he's sending me to hell for eternity? And if I've been rejected by God, why do Christians want me to love & worship him?
I'd say that if the homicidal, genocidal, mean spirited, bigoted, hateful bastard that is your god rejected me, then I'm OK with that.
Funny and totally illogical from the theological point of view. In theory, the person rejects God, not the other way round, or, at least, that's what the Church has based on the next............2000 years(remember the famous non serviam). Otherwise, sounds like..........illogical from the most practical point of view. Even 5000 years ago people understood that, when you were rejected by somebody, even God, you had all the right to feel pissed off.
Steve was a professor at the Florida State University law school and one of the preeminent First Amendment scholars in the country. He was one of the attorneys for the plaintiffs in Edwards v Aguillard, the case that ruled creation science out of public school science classrooms.

Anyone who uses their intellect and power to rid society of God ... they only do so because God has rejected them.
Oh, buuhuu, I have been rejected by God, me poor thing, me. I'm sooo desolate.
Yeah, like I give a shit.
Next thing I'll have to worry about being rejected by the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy. Wow, life's really going down hill.
Atheist: "I don't believe in god!"
God: "OH YEAH!!! Well... I don't ... I don't believe... in ... YOU! That's right!"
Makes him seem kind of petty and stupid doesn't it? Yeah, it does... maybe you should think about what you say before you... say it.
@Brendan Rizzo: Nope! At least not the ones who've read Paul's discussion of predestination in Romans. The short version is: God has elected certain people to salvation, and the sins of the elect are covered in the blood of Christ, but the reprobate are predestined to damnation.

Do you mean abandoned her ?
Oh, OK, I see it now. Being from So. Cal. I can relate. Thank you, (North) Hollywood Ray

Most christians adamantly argue that it is, in fact, the other way around.
If god rejects the atheist, then how do they owe god any favors?
Technically, there is the theology of predestination, but taking that view makes faith irrelevant and asinine.
Wait, if you're saying that GOD did the REJECTING, here, then aren't these people totally justified in their supposed God-hate? He fucking abandoned them. Atleast your complaint was internally consistent when you said atheists rejected GOD.
If you're going to reference the film Sunset Boulevard at least mention you're referencing it. Not that your analogy makes any sense anyway.
This post is just another way of saying "Atheists actually believe they're just pretending they don't because they're mad at God!"
Whatever gets you idiots through the night I guess.

It's true. God has rejected me. And yet Christians persist in telling me that He loves me. Huh! That's a lie for a start. But, OK, if that's the way He wants it, then that's the way He can have it, and that's fine by me. Therefore, I henceforth banish God from my presence on pain of being mercilessly mocked. God, a jumped-up retard who loves it when money-worshipers invoke His name. What a creep! And stay away from me you maniac! And that goes for His zombie puppets like Ray Martinez too!
@ christopher:
But the people who believe in predestination are Calvinists, (the most vile and hateful of all Christian sects, together with Southern and Independent Baptists) who are considered by all other denominations (except the aforementioned Baptists, who don't care as they share the same political views) to be heretics. Thus, my point stands.

In Soviet China, God worships YOU!
I for one welcome our new Chinese overlords. Why? Because in that country, religion has no right to tell people what to do.
I hope that attitude starts spreading. The Czech Republic is the least religious country in Europe. Just throwing that one out there, fundies.
Hm. I guess I can just shit can that story in the wholly babble about the prodigal son......
But look at the bright side, now, gawd will leave me alone. Now....if I can only get gawd's followers to leave me alone......
@BrendanRizzo: No. Seriously, no. Burnings of heretics were not really a thing in 1611, and even when they were a thing you didn't convict a heretic based on a single statement. Especially one like this that didn't touch on any of the central dogmas.
His whole theology such as it is would be anachronistic, of course, and if he went around sharing it in a place and time that had an active Inquisition he'd be likely to be dragged up in front of it and asked to give account. As a time traveler he'd probably be ruled insane and acquitted. If convicted, they'd probably make him wear crosses and go on pilgrimages and things. Upon 'relapse,' or if he steadfastly refused to recant, they MIGHT burn him, but it would only be really likely if they were in a really frenetic period or he was somehow managing to influence others.
Unless his creed involves some things they were particularly paranoid about and got himself mistaken for an organized heretic.
But seriously, do you know how expensive it was to burn a human being? Takes a hell of a lot of wood, and if done too much damages the productivity of the district. It was a lot harder to get burned than you seem to believe.
History FTW.
Wow, 'god' rejected me instead of me rejecting the notion of 'god'?
Your god is a dick then for abandoning me.
Confused?
