[In reference to step 3 of Alcoholics Anonymous.]
Surrendering to anyone but the God of the Bible constitutes idolatry. AA is another religion with its own forms of piety, including surrender to a nebulous higher power. This pious surrender does not constitute a "Christian root" that can justify Christians using and promoting AA.

I do NOT care for AA at ALL!
its blasphemous, alcohol was invented by me,i LOVE alcohol, everyone should!
fucking fool this david guy is,if alcohol was so bad, would i have turned water into (gasp,WINE! an alcoholic beverage?)
Ah yes, heaven forbid that Christians should get help in overcoming their addictions because it's just soooo Christian to get drunk every night, spend all your family's money, leaving them with no food or clothes, coming home, getting aggressive, beating up your partner and children and generally making life as bloody awful as possible. I can see how Jesus would want that in a Christian relationship.
Hmm, Pledge uses a nebulous god reference to skirt by the fact it was intended to refer to the Christian god, fundie are ok and even support the claim that it's inclusive of other gods. Christianity-based rehab program uses nebulous god reference to skirt by the fact it's referring to the Christian god, and fundies complain that it's idolatry. Consistency is not a fundie strong point.
On a side note: Does anyone else think it's funny that AA says you can use a rock or tree as your "higher power" if you're atheist? That's pretty well all but outright saying that step is completely useless. Logical follow-through on conclusions is also not a fundie strong point.
This guy is an over-troll wannabe.
He's gonna throw all his bullshit here into a book and sell it, wanna bet?
Cork your bottle and tell us about the Society of Friends, Davey....
While I disapprove of AA for other reasons, this is retarded. AA does not specify which higher power, it just says there must be a higher power to help you overcome alcohol. This is bullshit, but it shows that your argument is false. Christians could easily make this higher power YHWH or Yeshua.
AA has problems, but this isn't one of them.
And there is no higher power in this world than humanity as a whole. There's bigger powers (hurricanes, plate tectonics), but nothing higher.
"would i have turned water into (gasp,WINE! an alcoholic beverage?)"
Actually, some denominations believe He turned the water into non-alcoholic grape juice, but no-one there knew the difference.
I have my own problems with AA, that included, but not at all for the same reason. It's more the fact that from my experience with it (my mother's been in and out for years) it borders on a cult and, while she isn't personally Christian (Wiccan) they do basically try and force you to be such.
Surrendering to no-one but the God of the Bible constitutes idiocy.
There, I fixed it for you, free of charge.
Confused?
