The war on terror must be won what ever the consequences! The enemy within, Islam and the left are just as guilty as Osama.
Still the usual 911 conspiracies exist due to Islamic propaganda and the terrorist left, wake up! We were attacked by Islam and they admitted doing so.
Its about time people got behind the flag and support the fight just like we did against the Nazis in WWII. Which I might add, if where fought today we would have lost due to the liberal media and the far left questioning facts.

Don't forget Iraq. Oh, and doing drugs, cuz if you do drugs then the terrorists win! Islam isn't a place numbnuts. The left, 'the enemy within' (whatever the fuck that is, is it the voices in your head?), and whatever boogedy men you come up with are not the blame. It's people like YOU! WHO touch yourself! YOU ARE BAD! Naughty little masturbating terrorist!
No one questioned that the Nazis were bad people. It was blatantly obvious. Islam, on the other hand, is mostly peaceful. Only a select few have done anything wrong. To prosecute all muslims is simply beyond decency. Asshole.

If Bush were running the fight against Nazi Germany, we'd be invading outer mongolia.
"Which I might add, if where fought today we would have lost due to the liberal media and the far left questioning facts."
Like WMD facts? And the Iraq attacked us on 9-11 facts? Are those the facts you're talking about?
Strangely it was leftists that helped defeat the nazi's, what a strange world we live in.
So if we can not question facts, how does it go? Who gives the facts that must be acted on and what happens if somebody else gives contradictory facts.
The war on terror must be won what ever the consequences! We're in a war against military recruiters that use the tragedy and suffering of Muslim peoples and the inhumane behavior of their target to bring people to violence. "Whatever the consequences" is their recruitment drive at our expense.
Besides, that attitude is exactly what has justified all the great crimes against humanity in history. Our original goal (for some of us, only when we're putting on a good face) was to achieve justice, and yet you'd turn your strategy on our ultimate goal. This is what Nietzsche meant by "Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster." If we won WWII by gassing Jews and taking over the world, we'd have lost despite our victory.
The enemy within, Islam and the left are just as guilty as Osama. You need to make a connection, there. You'll find that you can't. The left has actually done all it can to help in this fight, despite constant friendly-fire from the right.
You remember Jimmy Carter? The right said he was weak because he didn't want to get into bed with the corrupt regimes in the middle east. A significant part of the Muslim hatred directed at us comes from our allegiance with their oppressors. The right considered the Muslim victims to be acceptable collateral damage in the cold war against the Soviets. Could we have at least offered an apology and heartfelt explanation? In that absence, they've filled in the blanks with us as the bad guy.
You remember the fall of the Soviet Union after their war in Afghanistan? Many on the left wanted to give at least some aid to the country, a few even saying there could be blowback otherwise. The Reagan administration wanted to move on to a world without the USSR and ignored the problem that was brewing--the problem that they armed, trained, and helped put into power.
And now the left does everything it can to make our fight just, effective, and sane. Yet it's attacked from friends and foe alike for the trouble. All you have to do is recognize the common cause and be willing to engage in a conversation with them. Do you have a legitimate criticism of a leftwing position? Give your argument. Now, wasn't that easy?--It was productive !
Still the usual 911 conspiracies exist due to Islamic propaganda and the terrorist left, wake up! We were attacked by Islam and they admitted doing so. The "terrorist left"? When the hell did anyone on the left commit acts of violence to force political change? I'm waiting... That's right! They never did! The left has committed itself to following the democratic process in peace. Hell, they rarely use harsh words in political ads! They aren't the ones scaring the American people with straw men.
Now, we were attacked by some people that took credit for their work. Given. Islam isn't those people. We were attacked by people who had a political agenda and relatively rare subset of Muslim beliefs. Nothing has justified expanding this profile beyond that. In fact, turning the Muslim majority against them would be the easiest and most effective tactic to use against the terrorists. Yet we make that task harder and harder every day with this attitude of yours.
Its about time people got behind the flag and support the fight just like we did against the Nazis in WWII. People have been 100% behind the fight against terror. You'll remember, it's the left that is concerned with finding Bin Laden. It's the left that wants to redouble our efforts in Afghanistan. It's the left that has called for a number of improvements to our pathetic excuse for Homeland Security. It's the left that has been focused on adjusting to the feedback we're getting from our strategies in this fight.
One thing the left won't do is agree to actions that unnecessarily impede our efforts to win this war. That's why they fight against Bush and the right--because the right's ideas aren't good for the war on terror! That's why they oppose the war in Iraq--because that war is not good for the war on terror!
Which I might add, if where fought today we would have lost due to the liberal media and the far left questioning facts. Please, the media isn't liberal. The media is an apolitical fear-addict; a condition which currently aligns them with the fear-inducing messages of the right.
And the far left should question the facts! We all should. Can you think of any reason for the facts to be one thing, and our actions to be based on something else? NO! That would be suicidal idiocy.
Besides, you need to review what happened in WWII. A significant part of the United States bought into the Nazi message, and it wasn't little o'l Jew-loving atheistic pacifist left. That's why Hitler didn't think we'd fight him. Many of the rightwing religious accepted Hitler's placing blame on the Jews. Many accepted his talk of racial purity. The conservatives were ideologically committed to never getting into WWI again, fighting only clear defensive wars where our borders are at risk.
It was the left and centrists that pushed for American action to go out and stop the Nazi's evil. It was our leftwing pseudo-socialistic president that scrambled for ways to sell the idea to the American people and who fought the war to victory. (And on two fronts in less time than it's taken the right to only dig a deeper hole.)
More fundamentally, the basic assumption of your post is that wars are a contest of wills, a test of who is willing to commit what act. They aren't! That's the situation for a loser in desperation--say, like a terrorist. In the hands of the strong--in the hands of people with resources, both material and social--strategy reflects that power and wars become a contest of minds and numbers. You would put down our greatest weapons suited for this fight and put us on the wrong end of a mind-gap and man-gap. Don't do what you're doing, because you're helping them win.
Has it ever occured to anyone that if the USA hadn't immediately embarked on a knee-jerk policy of massive retaliation after 9/11, they just might have had more success getting sympathy and support in maintaining international stability by rational muslims equally appaled by the attack?
The Afghanistan war seems to have done little to stop terrorism, and the Iraq war, in the process of toppling a dictator who had nothing to do with 9/11, has made a colossal mess of the entire area.
People seem to cling to the rather strange notion that whenever an event of significant magnitude occurs, the government should always do something in response, as if there will always be a course of positive action appropriate to the stimulus. Has it occured to no one that, just possibly, there might be such a thing as a stimulus to which there is no appropriate response? As many have observed, provoking any kind of response generally encourages terrorists. I find there's little more dangerous than a man of action when nothing need be done, or nothing productive can be done.

Exactly. Even the sympathy of others is a formidable kind of power and a resource one shouldn't squander. It's a rare foothold you can really build something from; like a leash you can use to pull people (even from the ranks of your enemies) towards what you want, or some kind of magic that makes people recognize your humanity and your position, or a force multiplier that works by easily making allies. You'd have to be an idiot to throw it away!
But we've got an idiot.
"We were attacked by Islam and they admitted doing so."
Because the crazy far-right blow-up-the-infidels crowd represent all of Islam. Gotcha.
"...due to the liberal media and the far left questioning facts."
Yeah, God forbid we should require some semblance of HONESTY of our political leaders when they lead us into a goddamn war.
The enemy within, Islam and the left are just as guilty as Osama.
Islam isn't guilty. Certain Muslims are.
We were attacked by Islam and they admitted doing so.
We were attacked by certain Muslims. "Islam" didn't do a damn thing.
So, basically, what he's saying is, we should all give up our freedoms to dissent and become a Nazi-like country to fight against a Nazi-like... Wait... That can't be right...
Confused?
