500 years ago, you would have had your head chopped off for saying that.
All you pseudo- scientists should count your lucky stars Christians decided to relax things here in the West allowing science and tech to grow a little.

Right now, you will get your head bitten off for saying this.
All you pseudo-Christian fundamenalists should count your lucky stars smart people decided to relax things here in the real world, allowing religion and stupidity to grow a little.
EDIT: Zipperback, you're right.
This guy yearns for the good old days. He better be careful what he wishes for.
Someday when science creates perfect, five-sense virtual reality via cranial implants, we should create a digital reproduction of the Spanish Inquisition, complete with every torture device history can recall, and put motherfuckers like this into it for a little stroll down memory lane.
It would be a fair payback for their meddling in the stem cell debate, slowing the arrival of various cures by years, resulting in the slow, painful deaths of thousands of victims of diseases like type one diabetes, who would have otherwise lived.
Hey, at least this guy admits that Christianity did its best to hold back science and technology until only a few centuries ago, and that even after that it tried to allow it to grow only a little. Good thing its restrictive efforts haven't been entirely successful.
Of course, the fact that he calls scientists "PSEUDO-scientists" is a whopping big invitation to a Mirror Award, and an especially galling invitation at that. It's a pity he'll probably be trumped for it by someone even more brazen.

Nobody expects a digital reproduction of the Spanish Inquisition!
I think this should be a Mirror Award.
The Asstastic Crusader never considers for a second that without scientific advancement Europe would never become a colonial power. Without technology The empires of China or the Middle East would have been the first to stake claim on the world, conquer the pitifully backwards pre-rennaisance Christians and he'd probably be born a Taoist, Buddhist or Muslim.
Yes, I'm glad you and your social luddite friends are not allowed to cut my head off for stating the truth about the bible. I do not, however, believe in "lucky stars."
You and your bible-thumping friends should be glad that science has advanced dispite you, allowing for modern medicine, transportation, communications, etc.. In fact, the advancement of science now allows Fundie morons, like you, to post witless commentaries on the internet.
Why does the vinegar-man hate his own???
I looked up wikipedia to get a list of 'pseudoscientific' fields...

StandardDeviant,
Check the batteries in your sarcasm meter lately?
Oh, wait, you're just being careful to always be polite and respectful to religious fanatics, right? Aww, how sweet. People like you are the reason these guys, a tiny minority, get to influence policy that affects the rest of us. You give them a free pass to be rude as hell, but you expect everyone else to be nice to them? Why?
I'm pissed. My friend's 25-year-old daughter is losing her eyesight to a disease that would be YEARS closer to being cured by now, if not for Jesus fuckheads holding back science in our society.
So give me a goddamned mirror award, because it's high time that those of us who understand science in this country start bouncing the vitriol right back at these religious assholes. Politeness isn't getting the job done.
"No, Mama. They don't do it like that anymore. He said we should all sit down and hate each other with good Christian fellowship."
-- Beneatha Younger, "Raisin in the Sun", by Lorraine Hansberry (accuracy of quote tentative)
So, since when was science developing at the *sufferance* of the Christians? They've shouted their brains out (in more ways than one) trying to *impede* it.
"500 years ago, you would have had your head chopped off for saying that."
Damn! This must be the smartest thing he ever said. I'm sure he deserves some credit, just like when a retarded person finally gets toilet trained.
Religion has been, and continues to be, the most regressive force on Earth. It's more rabid proponents have perpetrated a litany of injustices against men, women, and children.
Listening to the Christian(TM) Right I've become convinced they miss the "good old days".
News Flash: The "good old days" never happened, just like the rest of your biblical bullshit.
We Christians have been laying low for too long, but we´re slowly being pushed into militancy by " pseudo- scientists"
like yourselves. True, we did burn down all them "pagan" libraries 2000 years ago and the world was better off for it.
Nothing wrong with fresh starts.

Yeh it's a fucking blast wasn't it... Set society back 1,500 years.
If you want to go sit in a cave and pray to shadows, go right ahead. Please excuse the rest of the world for sniggering at your deliberate ignorance!

There was nothing wrong destroying knowledge and murdering people to protect the delusions of religious cretins; only in the evil minds of Christian jagoffs.
"Nothing wrong 'bout fresh starts"?
That's like killing someone's child but saying that it's okay, because they can have another one, there's nothing wrong with a fresh start at having and raising a child. And that's only a feeble, understated analogy.
Burning the Great Library of Alexandria was one of the greatest crimes against civilization ever perpetrated.
But I still say that this "Ascetic Crusader" is just an attention-whoring troll, not a true fundie, just a guy deliberately pushing buttons to get reactions from us. Yahweh, I repeat my suggestion to simply drop his posts altogether.
~David D.G.
Yeah, if you make a Christian mad, you better wait for that Holy Wrath to kick in. Love and tollerance are thoroughly unchristian traits, afterall.

I´d say the greatest crime was letting Galileo and Copernicus off the hook... Westerners were perfectly OK living in a flat topped , geo-centric Universe. OK until that pair of "saboteurs" came along.
NO worries, anything that is learned can be just as easily un- learned. With the proper "motivation" that is.

Muuuaaahahahahaha. The guy calls me a an "attention whoring troll"...David DG equates the burning of a piece of crap library to the murdering of an innocent child. What a filthy heathen.

Damn those who dare attempt to breach your wall of ignorance, eh?
they relaxed that in the east first..
oh, and no, that was because enough people realized that it was wrong to kill soemone for realizing that your full of shit. oops.
"All you pseudo- scientists should count your lucky stars Christians decided to relax things here in the West allowing science and tech to grow a little"
How's life in Backwards-land? I think you'll find that several centuries ago, the Roman Catholic Church had absolute power over most of Europe (even over kings). Then came the Renaissance. And then the rot set in. Certain people started questioning Catholic dogma. They started looking into things with new, questioning eyes, and they made discoveries. They published their findings. More & more people started to listen to them, instead of the priests, cardinals & Pope. Oh, the Vatican tried their hardest to grasp onto their dwindling power, acting against the likes of Galileo. But the cat of new knowledge was already out of the bag.
And now, God - once at the centre of human importance, was gradually pushed further away from the centre of that platform as the centuries went by. Nowadays, he's hanging on by his fingernails to the edge of that platform. And one day God will be plunged into the Abyss of Human Irrelevance, to join all the other fantasy deities of mythological yore. And that day is coming, and very soon.
Western science & technology is merely allowing God to hang there, because it suits our purpose. To have someone to gloat upon, when the time comes to push him into that abyss.
And to enjoy the exquisite sweetness of you fundies' tears of ultimate FAIL and despair when everything is explained by science.
The Christian didn't decide to relax things, they were more or less forced to relax things.
Maybe, if they hadn't come out of the religious haze, the Middle East might have continued with its advanced science and technology, and might have landed on the moon centuries before it actually happened.
They actually think Christianity mellowed and allowed other ideologies to take form and control. Christianity was told to stand back and stay there due to its misreable atrocious historical record.
The western world is what it is despite religious interference.
So you still want people to be beheaded for expressing an opinion? Also, don't put down the advancments science made. We you and me both might be dead from illness if we didn't invent modern medicine, because there was one point in my life where an IV saved my damn life.
The Ascetic Crusader: OH shit, it's rare for a findie to come to us directly.

So you support executing people for telling the truth. I thought one of your commandments said not to bear false witness. hmmmmm. contradiction bro?
Confused?
