- I think the last sentence should read: ' That is what happens when you swear on the Qur'an to uphold the constitution.' On this point, is there a formal oath at the inauguration ceremony? As a non-American I am not aware. But an atheist, presumably would attest, a Christian swear on his holy book and a Muslim on his one. So where does the Qur'an come into this? The old canard that Obama is a follower of Islam? Well, he's not, as it happens. And the insistence on this point by fundies shows the level of their intelligence - very low indeed.
