Except for the fact that even Bush admits that Iraq and Sadam had nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11. They plan it, they didn't support it, they didn't even know about it until it was on CNN. None of the hijackers or conspirators were Iraqi (most of them were actually Saudi, but that fact was downplayed).
As a secular Muslim leader, bin Laden and al Quaeda hated Saddam even more than they hate the US and Bush. If you need me to explain why, then you need to do some serious reaserch on something you claim to know already.
Our reasons for invading Iraq never had the slightest bit to do with 9/11. (The invasion of Afghanistan did, but we got bored with that pretty fast.) At first the invasion was because Saddam had WMDs. When it became obvious to even a blind protozoa that he didn't, Bush did a fast shuffle and all of a sudden we were there because Saddam was trying to get WMDs. When it became clear that he wasn't, Bush did another fast switch and now we were there to "bring freedom and democracy to the Iraqi people."
Which ignores the fact that the Iraqi people really don't seem to want democracy. When if became clear that, if granted democracy, the Iraqi people were pretty damn likely to vote in an Islamic Theocracy with a decidedly anti-American flavor, the US government decided to "postpone" things like elections. (But only until we could control the outcome of those elections.)
All of which makes it pretty clear that none of these are the actual reasons for the invasion. We are not safer now, we are not more prosperous, we are not more respected, we are not more influential. So why invade? The only thing that makes sense is that the US government is looking to secure control of the oil reserves.
And just remember, for a democratic nation, the USA has done remarkably little to promote or support democracy in the world.
