Our rewards in heaven are based on how we lived our Christian life - i.e. our "works" if you will. Those who have no works will have heaven, but no crowns to cast at Messiah's feet. How sad will that day be for them? Others will have crown upon crown to offer their Messiah! What a happy day that will be!

I must say, of all the Christian kookiness, "salvation by works" is certainly better than "salvation by faith," though no more logical.
If you read your own holy book, you'll see that the parable of the sheep and the goats clearly teaches salvation through works, not just a crown that you have to give back anyway. Then again, for some reason, fundies tend to skip over that part of Scripture.

Its a good job they do, seeing as most of them think that "good works" would involve stoning to death everyone who doesn't believe the exact same things that they do, and gay people.
I'm sorry, but unless you are a Quaker, or Mennonite, or Amish, or hard-core Calvinist, then Christian doctrine teaches that your "reward" in Heaven is based on the sacrifice of Christ, and not anything that you have done.
For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." (Romans 1:17, the internal quote is Hab 2:4)
The Bible itself explicitly states you are saved by faith, not works, and that Heaven is "perfect." If Heaven is perfect, how can one person get more "perfection" than another?
Try to at least know what Christian doctrine says before you go spouting off about it.
Um, my works are mine, thank-you-very-much. Crowns are for wearing, not beaning your imaginary friend.
Why do they assume "crowns" means the hat?
Aren't crowns a type of coin?
Completely batshit either way, of course, but still...
Sandman, you are leaving out Catholics!
BTW, there is James 2, 14 and onwards. Faith without works is dead.
I once heard an explanation in this style. It said that everyone in Heaven had their soul completely filled with happiness. However, better persons had a larger soul. Everyone is as happy as they could, but some had a higher happiness capacity.
About "crowns"...I've heard that the Catholic Church says sometimes that martyrs have a "crimson crown".
So what you're telling me is that in heaven, some are more equal than others?
What the rest of you are missing is that this is the ultimate opportunity to show off your "piety" and rub your superiority in everyone else's face! Everyone will know you're the bestest Christian ever when they see your huge pile of crowns!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
